I think jefferson will be charged with 2nd degree battery when it is all said and done, and plead down to simple battery.

regardless, I think he misses the first 2 games.

this is all mere speculation

I wish.

This would be my dream job. Instead I've friends like PP here calling my cellphone at 1:00 a.m. to ask legal hypotheticals.

Do you know the hourly rate that he's going to charge the players? Is there also a financing arrangement?

I have one question for everyone who is harping on this meaningless bit of news -- Who kicked the guy when he was down?

If these new 'witnesses' saw what happened, they better tell the whole story, not only the parts they chose to. Whoever talked them into this really just screwed them over. If they were outside, then they saw the guy get kicked in the face, if they weren't outside then it really doesn't matter because the 'first punch' thrown in the bar isn't necessarily the 'first punch' thrown outside of the bar.

Neldare said he was outside and witness the fight firsthand, but had not yet been interviewed by police.

I bet he's sweating bullets tonight, because he has a short amount of time to tell who kicked the guy was down -- if he says he didn't see that then he's full of shite.

You are confusing me with some of our other r-tard friends. If I call you at 1am it's cause I'm stranded and need a ride, or the legal situation is not hypothetical, it's actual.

I think 2nd degree is looking less and less likely. Still a possibility, but not nearly what it was when the story first broke.

Who cares who kicked the guy when he was down if HE isn't the one with serious injuries. I am going to keep repeating that until somebody answers that question.

Is anyone else wondering why Wing didn't get a kick in?
We could be discussing how Wing could have killed Lowery if he used his left foot.

The DA has enough for charges right now, but is looking to make sure they have all of the evidence necessary for conviction. DA's are evaluated based on prosecution rate and they are trying to fit the charge to the evidence. Could be the difference between first and second degree battery.

your aware this is not just another case right .... what more are they really going to get at this point. Prosecution rate is possibly relevant to evaluation, but its not crap compared to what you do when everyones eyes are on you .... and after whats come out today unless you either (1)don't like your job or (2) have some bad arse lead pipe lock evidence, you don't arrest the starting LSU quarter back. So we are back to my original point if they have the lock down evidence why haven't they arrested him yet? easy, they don't have it.....

All you people who seem to think that PR doesn't matter in the actions of elected officials in the US of A in the year 2011 are amazing. It's literally hard for me to believe that this many people are that totally clueless......
