4 here?!? In 2 separate years, you moron. And it's one article on Vandy. Want me to find more? You think they only had 1 pitching injury that entire year? Kids get hurt and come back. You include guys like Hilliard but how much playing time has he really missed?

Keep digging that hole, man. At this point, if you think it's LSU's fault, I can't help you. You'll never be taken seriously by anyone again, but maybe that's your shtick.

ok, remove those two guys and it’s still 4 here to 1 there.

Are you under the impression that the only thing that contributed to Eric Walker needing surgery was the pitches he threw in an LSU uniform?

Just to be clear, you're saying that a long-term, repetitive use injury was caused by the one season he threw here and had nothing to do with any season prior. For instance, his Jr year in high school where he threw over 100 innings.

Crazy how every single pitcher gets sore after every start and even some relievers at times. As if it's a normal occurrence.

More at 10.

I saw a starter in the dugout icing his arm down after he was pulled, the frick is going on? Why are all of our guys hurt immediately after the step off the mound?

icing their arm is standard.... Doesn't mean they are injured

Eric Walker played football in high school. Growing up he could pitch his workload in baseball for the spring and summer, then transition to football in the fall. Even though he did play qb, the stress on his arm/shoulder would not be nearly the same as consistently pitching a baseball. Therefore, his arm had time to recover in the offseason.

Flash forward to his senior year where he goes from pitching baseball in the spring, summer, and then right into fall baseball at LSU as a freshman, and then the long college baseball season without any true resting period.

It happens a lot.

It's been refuted by many but the perception is that we have more than our share every year. Latz, Storz, Hilliard, Hill, etc...

One has to assume that Mainieri, Dunn, the training and medical staff have researched to find the best approach to managing the health of the pitchers.

So you're blaming his injury on fall ball? Where he threw a total of 14 innings over 3 months?

This is one of your dumber arguments.

Good thing we have a deep staff this year. Bad news is it seems like every week now someone else gets hurt or has some kind of arm soreness
I'm really starting to wonder what they're doing with these kids in the offseason.

Throwing them less than a lot of programs.

Only Hess, Vietmeier, and Beck pitched in summer leagues last offseason.

Yes.

And it's not just how many intrasqaud innings he pitched. How many "4 on 1" workouts did he pitch to live batters?
How many times did he long toss? How many full bullpens did he have? How much flat ground work?

The arm needs time to rest. It was the first time in his life he was throwing a baseball year around and his arm never got the rest from throwing a baseball that he was used to.

As I said before, it happens to freshmen a good bit.

So your plan would be to not let freshman pitch during the fall?
