NEWS: Eric Walker is going to start Sunday against Texas Jaden Hill is out for the weekend with arm soreness

James Moran posted this on twitter just now. Walker going on Sunday against Texas but some not such good news is Jaden Hill is out with arm soreness. Seems like a lot of guys get arm soreness now. I blame travel ball

Good thing we have a deep staff this year. Bad news is it seems like every week now someone else gets hurt or has some kind of arm soreness

Not sure to feel happy for Walker or bad for Hill. Hopefully it’s the Costello type arm soreness that puts you out for a week as opposed to what Walker, Gilbert, Hilliard have all had

Here we go again, with arm soreness.

I blame a lot of things that have been going on for a while now. But the frequency of which our guys get hurt or miss time over the last couple of years is troubling. No, I don't blame the coaches. It's just really unfortunate.

Hopefully it's nothing serious, and we have most of these guys back (outside of Storz, who'll be a while, IF he comes back this year) and full go for conference play.

What's up with literally ALL of our pitchers with arm soreness? Seriously? This is fricking bull shite.

I know everyone says “Every team deals with this, not just LSU” which is true, but I think people need to consider that it happens a good amount more at LSU.

The fate of this team will be determined by the health of our pitchers.

Speaking of, is he out? Haven't seen him pitch or even mentioned.

Good to see Hilliard back again tonight too. Sucks about Hill, but yeah, I hope he can come back quickly. He was developing nicely

I blame poor arm management.

Be it proper stretching, form or rehab.

I agree.

This was a topic last week, I think, and some were downplaying it like every team has just about every pitcher missing time at some point. like I said then, there is a certain threshold for what can be considered "normal" and I think LSU has gone well past that. I don't think LSU is doing anything differently. They just seem to be snake bitten.

Florida never had arm soreness from their pitchers the last few years

Dunn's methods should be studied. It's happening too much.

I really think it’s these guys playing too much baseball before they get to college. The kids in college now a days are really the first big generation of playing travel ball during the summer and in the fall.

A lot of these guys play in showcases every weekend during the summer, immediately after high school ball is over with, and they play in showcases during the fall as well. They aren’t getting the rest and breaks needed as a kid between the ages of 14 and 18. Even 16 and 17 year olds aren’t completely developed and their bodies aren’t completely matured enough to be able to handle playing all of this baseball, especially pitchers. Expect this trend to only get worse until something is done about it but I don’t know how you can take away a multi million dollar program like travel ball.

How so? Travel ball really could be the culprit. Go look at my last post before this one. These guys, especially pitchers, are throwing and playing too much baseball between Janruary and October, and not getting the rest needed for their bodies to heal. Remember, these are 14-18 year old kids who’s bodies haven’t matured and haven’t completely developed yet. Only MLB players should be allowed to play this much
