Agreed

But it goes for the other side of the coin too.

Use words that are "offensive", and be black balled as well.

We are in a time of social media lynch mobs on both the liberal and conservative side

But if you consider yourself a principled person willing to "stand" for your beliefs despite the consequences, why do you complain about the consequences.

And the lynch mobs are the ones who should be called out.

There will always be people upset. However, there are ways to actually protest without the "action being offesnsive."

People were offended here before even hearing the message.

I agree with that. They didn't relay their message in the best way possible.

Obviously he doesn't understand that the customers for his services are the fans and if they don't want to pay to watch him kneel he will not get paid. He can choose not to play but he should not complain.

Exactly! Many who protest, then lash out at those who disagree with them. Take the consequences.

At the end of the day, it is about business and if someone feels a player hurts their bottom line then they are probably not signing him.

Reid has every right to protest.
The owners have every right to hire who they want.

Agree.... here we have another case of “Kapernick 2”.... Reid gambled and lost now complains it’s someone else’s fault becuz he’s not signed by any team... like the ole saying goes...”ACTIONS speak louder than WORDS”.... sometimes you hold them, sometimes you fold them....and sometimes things are better left unsaid.... ....enjoy the games on Tv Eric....too bad, so sad....

Exactly try making a political protest at your place of employment and see how that plays out. For most of you taking Reid’s side that would mean stopping traffic at McDonalds but you’d still be fired.

Many protestors went to jail or were killed for protesting actual oppression and racial equality many years ago. I’m so sorry that you can’t find another multimillion dollar contract.

The racists are so happy right now that a citizen is punished for expressing his problems in a non-violent way. Terrorists kill innocent people in the schools and some of America can still support the second amendment without alteration. Just depends on your color whether or not the bill of rights apply to you. Sad case in 2018.

i find it pretty strange that reid talks about his right to protest but then has a problem with the owners being able to hire who they want.

so whats wrong with the owners of a private company having the right to hire who they want?

and for the record i never had a problem with their protesting and never once tried to act like it was in any way directed at the military.

Yeah, I don't care one way or the other, but he shouldn't be whining about it. He's jumping on a sword and expecting not to bleed.

Lmao that is the saddest most pathetic form of hyperbole I’ve seen in this thread yet. One has nothing to do with the other and your second amendment statement is so ignorant you sound like you work for cable news. FYI Reid doesn’t have any of “those problems” and neither you nor him even know what the root cause of them actually are.

What they did is wrong, but they didn't do it on game day, wearing their employer's uniform, in front of 80k fans in the stadium and millions more on TV, and doing it during our national anthem, in the freest, most prosperous country on earth that has provided them the opportunity to become multimillionaires.

There's the difference. And it's a huge one.

as if this matters.

peacefully protesting isnt in the same realm as murdering someone even if its done with the entire world population watching. my god bruh.

if youre an owner that hired any of the players that were connected to a murder and you won't hire ER for his stance, YOU'RE A HUGE HYPOCRITE.

but that doesnt mean they dont have the right to be a hypocrite

It’s funny that you mention racism since the two people who started the protest are openly racist.

Eric Reid also said he was aware his protest may affect his ability to play in the NFL going forward and was prepared to stand up for his beliefs. Well, Eric, here's your chance to be a martyr
