i just don’t understand the switch back to 3-4. Orgeron is so adamant about having a 4-3

The offense was ok. It was far from great. The playcalling was noticeably much more predictable than last year.

Don’t let the last two games, one of which was against the only defense in cfb worse than ours, make you forget about AM, Auburn, and Bama. The three best defenses we faced and we put up 35 total points. Really we scored essentially one TD in three games that wasn’t in garbage time.

Not to mention Missouri and Miss St. While mainly on the defense, a 15% third down conversion percentage definitely didn’t help

I have nothing bad to say about this man. Absolute warrior during this past year.

He’s a true tiger through and through.

I hope this was more SE decision than CEO...SE is a great tiger and a much better coach than many give him credit for

Well I think he learned the hard way. You have to find 4 guys to play the DL in a 43 and have 4 more to be 2 deep. How many of those guys are our there. Easier to find 3 to play DL and then find 4 LBS. You can always find those 6-1 225-230 guys in Louisiana to fill 2 of those slots at LB as LA HS ball produces those.

3-4 based on what we have in our state HS football ranks seems to me to be easier to recruit to a 34, vs. 43.

understand that you don't hire a worse coach because of the scheme. If we can get a great DC who runs a 3-4 you do it because great coaches can coach regardless.

Glad he's still on staff. Great Tiger! I wish he was still OC. I loved the job he did this year with the freshmen QBs. He had three QBs this season, and they all looked good, although Finley struggled with the two good defenses he faced.

0 running game the entire season.

That’s a big part of the OC’s job. Find a way to get the running game going. Running the same plays that worked for CEH with last year’s OL wasn’t working this season. Someone needed to implement some adjustments and find a way to get some running room.

How much misdirection have you seen out of LSU? How bout an occasional trick play to generate some cheap yards? None.

Promote Calloway and be done with it. Not only is he a really bright mind, but you definitely keep a lot of Brady’s passing game concepts and it’ll be cheap as hell which will allow for more $ to DC if needed.

I call bullshite on the 3-4 switch. We just recruited a class designed for the 4-3 and the players were happy when news came out about switching from 3-4 to 4-3 last year. The new DC may be multiple but we will still be a primary 4 man front.

He's a very valuable staff member. From a talent eval standpoint, he's one of the best. If he ever wants to hang it up from a coaching standpoint, he should be kept around in the recruiting dept.

Absolutely

Could also be the head of the analyst department

Couldn’t agree more. Most issues were clock management and that falls on O.

He did. He has said he never wanted to be the OC. He knows we need new blood there. This is a great kove and happy he stays on staff. He deserves to walk away from LSU on his own terms in the coming years.
