We had a top 10 defense for the first 11 games of the year in. 2018

We didn’t have that in 2019

How much of that was due to the amount of plays they were on the field?

How much more do you think they were on the field this year?

The average isn’t much different.

I would bet starters played a lot more in 2019 vs 2018.

You could bet that, but you’re be wrong.

We had a lot more depth this year.

2018 we would play 4 DL total
In a game.

According to TeamRankings, LSU gave up less points per game in 2019 vs 2018.

Another site had it about even.

2018 283/13= 21.77
2019 328/15=21.86

But, I said Going into the A&M game.

First 11 games of the year (where we went 9-2)

We averaged 16 PPG.

Do you watch LSU Football. Do you not notice these kind of things?

That’s 9/10 of our wins

Also I’ll point out in the bowl game we gave up 32 points 7 on a pick six and 3 on a FG after a muffed punt.

Anyone who doesn’t realize how good that defense was Is a moron

You have a strong opinion for someone who missed half the season

My entire position is that a lot more changed between 2018 and 2019 than just Brady coming aboard.

No need to be an arse.

With all due respect, it wasn't until Brady arrived that our offense took off the way it did.

If Ensminger can replicate even a fraction of what we had last year, I'll respect his ability as a coordinator.

Until then, Brady gets the credit for our offensive leap.

Ensminger

I am really surprised no other program tried to poach him from LSU.

We don't know if any other program did or not. I'd bet they did. I'd bet he said no. I don't think Brady would have left us for a while had the pros not come knocking with an open wallet.

Where are we if we keep Sullivan and don't get Brady?

not 15-0

IDK, where is Orgeron if he doesn’t get those guys? Where is anyone if they don’t get someone? The point is that Ensminger DID go get him.

We had to do a lot of shuffling in 2019 too due to injury and suspension.

Almost the entire offense was a year older, more experienced, and just better ball players. Burrow, Chase, Jefferson, Marshall, Clyde, Charles, MaGee, Cush, Lewis, and Deculus were all older and improved. Plus we returned Moss and Ingram who had been injured.

You forgot Ensminger being OC

He was OC in 2019, too, when we had the greatest offense in history. We’ll get a chance to see your theory in practice, when Ensminger runs the 2020 offense without Brady. But if it’s successful, you’ll credit another assistant or analyst.

Tell me more about how a low level Saints assistant built the greatest college offense ever in one offseason by himself calling a minority of the plays.

you're missing the entire point...... the point is that either way it wasn't Ensminger. we saw the max protect philosophy of SE in 2018 and it led to these stats prior to the last game of the season....
quote:

64th in ppg
74th in points per play
87th OFFENSIVE TDS PER GAME  ?
77th in yards per game
91st in yards per play  ?
79th in 3rd down conv. ?
83rd in rushing yards per carry
64th in passing yards per attempt
106th in redzone tds %
80th in passing yards per game
91st in passing tds per game

there is a reason why no one was worried about SE leaving and everyone was praying for Brady to return

Why is Ensminger the OC then?

And again, the offensive line was a disaster.

the scheme hurt the oline.
in 2018 we had a max protect philosophy which invites more defenders to the LOS and shrinks the amount of field the defense has to cover. keeping burrow under center also hurt the oline.
