Ensminger will stay with LSU and O no matter what his paycheck is. Whenever E was named OC, the reports were that he didn't even want the job but O convinced him. E will have no problem either taking a demotion or becoming a Co-OC.

Brady is the guy that will be hard to keep. His name is already appearing in talks for Texas OC job. LSU paid 1.5 mil for Matt Canada. You don't think Texas would pay that to Brady after what he's done to this LSU offense. You can argue how much of this production is actually from him but it doesn't matter, because if we want to keep him then we will have to compete with desperate and very deep pocketed Texas. And from O's mouth it seems we are very concerned with keeping him.

Brady will get minimum $1.5mil in the offseason.

You’re not wrong but that’s why I mentioned the Texas rumors. They are one of the few schools that can compete with us money wise and they want him. If he’s money motivated (what 30 year old isn’t? I’m 30 and I’d sell my wife for 1.5mil a year) then we’re going to have to pay him to keep him and I’m ok with that

Correct. I don't disagree with any of this. My only point would be that, at this point, going from $410k p/yr to $1.8MM p/yr brings far too may unrealistic expectations and pressure upon Brady...and that makes me fearful that he would press, as opposed to letting things come to him.

And, no...I would certainly not fault him for taking the money, as he would be silly not to take it (if from us). But, as I have repeatedly said, he has an amazing opportunity here, that he would not have at most other places that are in a situation where they would need his services.

This is the key phrase.

If we want to keep him we’re going to have to pay him top coordinator money.

The good part about this is we are the only people in the world who know how much he’s worth so we can dig our feet in the sand and play hard ball but if he is what the fans think he is then we are going to have to bust the checkbook wide open

He's going to get about the same as the top OC's in the country with way more experience?

College football isn’t “good ole baw nepotistic Exxon plant in Geismar” where the longest tenured dipshit gets paid the most. Brady is running the best offense in college football right now, and he’ll get paid accordingly. It is what it is, we’ll see how well that works out in a few years, but he’s a commodity who will get paid what his product is worth as of right now.

I said in game 2 after Texas...take the profit from beer sales pay Joe more than anyone has ever been paid at the OC position. He may be lightening in a bottle but I’m with Earl...his scheme is fast and gives the qb all the advantages.

But that’s the situation we are both in. That’s just reality. Like I said earlier the good part about this is that we’re the only team in the country that truly knows what he’s worth. We can set our number and feel good about it

Jimbo got a guaranteed 75mil contract. I don’t think you can use this analogy

I agree. I’m willing to take the chance on him. If it doesn’t work out it didn’t work out but we can’t let him leave and him continue to produce elsewhere

Yep, and this is why I think we come out on top.

I do too but I think we give him at least 4-5mil over 3 years because I believe we value him that much.

This is what we are paying Scott Woodward the big bucks for. If he’s as good of an AD as we all hope, then he will make sure that we keep Brady. This will be his first big test as LSU’s AD. I have faith that he will handle it better than Alleva would’ve.

Was that ever verified or just a "report" by Culotta

The 1.8 million has been verified by mutiple insiders.

From what I was told it would be

1.6 next year
1.8 for 2021
1.9-2.1 for 2022

Co-oc next year. E steps back or retires in 2021.

Deal is agreed upon and just waiting final approval.

And lol he isn't going to Texas.

Dabo, Charlie Weis Jr, Graham Harrell, Lincoln Riley, PJ Fleck, Ryan Day, Lane Kiffin, etc. think I can.

Also, Jimbo had also been a HC for less than 10 years when he was awarded that contract, so I have no clue why you’d think that disproves my point
