we were coached where both hitter and runner confirm with some signal that they BOTH acknowledge the squeeze or sac bunt.

This.

When the squeeze play was put on, the hitter had a sign that he would display to ensure he got the sign and that have the runner the green light to execute the play.

It would typically be the batter rubbing the barrel of the bay or adjusting his helmet.

We have executed small ball at an extremely high level.

I think Johnson is practicing small ball for Omaha since wind conditions do not favor long ball.

It’s been a ridiculously successful strategy this season. In a 40 degree game with two ace pitching and small ball is the reality it’s a fantastic strategy based on execution to this point.

It’s not Jay’s fault Stansfield shite the bed.

No problem with the squeeze right there

Agree up 3 - 0 would have felt much better in a game when runs are at a premium

Last 2 or 3 times I remember it hasn't worked.

Keep working on it. It’s not terribly important how well it works in April.

they will never ever ever remember plays like that when attacking people who understand math and explain bunting is stupid

Bunting guys into scoring position is controversial, sure, but squeezing?

Lol nothing about math or the game of baseball says bunting is stupid. Somebody has watched money ball one too many times.

"the math" is not a set never-changing formula. There are variables. For example if your #9 hitter is up with a stiff wind blowing straight in, that's different math from Jared Jones being up, at auburn, with a warm breeze blowing to LF

Perhaps your fricking memory isn’t a viable basis for deciding baseball strategy?
