Furthermore, the upvotes compared to downvotes from the original message mean quite a few people agree with me on this. There is more that disagree but it shows I’m not alone in thinking of this.

First off it is a dumb rule and the end should have been replayed. Having said that even if the basket counts you haven't won anything. You have just sent the game to overtime and it took a buzzer beater for you to get out of the teens in the second half. Based on that second half offensive production what makes you think you would have won in overtime anyway?

The ending sucks, but losses in CBB happen. Turnovers and fouls are killing this team right now. They generally play good shot defense…until they foul. On offense they run good stuff…then have stretches where turn the ball over seemingly 3 out of four possessions.
In the first halves vs Illinois St and KSU they didn’t turn the ball over. You saw the results. They blitzed their opponents. In the second half of each game they couldn’t maintain possession and played horribly offensively.
They don’t shoot poorly. They don’t defend poorly. But you make it much harder on yourself when you are giving away too many possessions and allowing your opponents to stay in games (despite their poor FG shooting) by getting 15-20 points at the FT line.
McMahon recognizes it. Just have to clean up those areas. Despite the loss, there was still a lot of GOOD in these last 3 games

A lot to work on and sure, we could have done a bunch of things different and won by 20.
