I live in Houston and can’t make it to every game, but I’ve been genuinely curious… what would you expect a guy like me to do?

I live in Sugar Land and have had season tickets for over 30 years. I normally make all conference games plus a power 5 home game. I do have some friends who like to go, so I give them mine when I can't drive over or sell them.

I have elderly neighbors who go as well and ride with me, but they still go when I don't and drive themselves.

Another guy watching the game from TV complaining about the people that actually pay for the seats and donate to the program.

the crowd may have been loud, but you can't make that assessment through the TV.

The TV networks can adjust the crowd noise up or down, so you won't get a true determination through the TV.

Watch the sky cam of the game, doesn't have tv announcers and just in stadium sound. When ref turns on the mic, you can really hear how loud it is on the field

If the gold seats are empty 5 minutes after Kick-off, hand them out to the swamp people. Those guys will stay until the lights go out.

Many of the yellow seats on both the East and West sides are corporate seats.

So, this may be a stupid question...but everyone always just said those are corporate seats.

Has there ever been any information from LSU, etc. that would actually indicate that is the case? I'm just curious as to where that comes from. I am a little skeptical that the tens of thousands of seats on the E and W sides are all or even substantially owned by corporations/entities.

replacing functional seats in the football stadium is probably last on the list
But, replacing your blather with a functional poster easily finds the Top 3 on any list of improvements.

This right here is an often overlooked issue. In “the heyday“, the place held at most 78,000. Now capacity is over 100,000. That is a whole lot of potential empty seats. I would imagine that if the stadium still had 78,000 capacity, games would look a lot more full. If 70,000 people came to a game back then, the place looked packed. Now it looks almost 1/3 empty, same number of people.

Downside is, the program would have a lot less money. On balance, I suppose I’m OK with it.

I sit in a lower bowl section on the 30 yard line with a bunch of other "grandpas", and our children and grandchildren. Around us are 20-somethings and 30-somethings who show up drunk, get drunker, and disappear at halftime. The problem on the west side is the corporate holders who buy the tickets and forget about them.
So take your adolescent bigotry and put it where the sun don't shine.

We could reduce seating and give everyone a few more inches of sitting space in each seat

All you folks obsessed with other people and their attendance.

You know the saying about not worrying about what you don’t control?

You don’t control when ticket holders leave or even if they show up at all.

You worry about you. That’s what you can control. Great advice for all parts of your life…and also for attendance at ball games.

That’s because the student sections and end zones were packed and loud. The grey hair/blue hair/no hairs need to either get loud or get out.
