lol, it is actually true that some deceased people still have season tickets in their name, that are paid for by living people. It happens more than one might think. Baseball tickets are just one of those things that often times don’t find themselves into a succession.

Yep they’ve always been that way. Those tycoons do whatever the hell they want when they want; they don’t bother to re-sell the tickets, and they don’t give a damn. They are bastards!

The only problem there is NOT that they buy the tickets, nor is \it that they do not attend most games. It IS that they make little to no effort to make sure the seats are used by someone.
My next door neighbor here in BR told me that the owner of the business he works for has four tickets behind the plate every year. He gives them away to clients or people who work for him. My neighbor told me he got the 4 for ONE of the Tennessee series games and a pal (who hates LSU sports of every kind) got the 4 for the Sat night game. When that guy returned to work on Monday, those 4 prime Sat night tickets were still on his coworkers desk and were never used. He says this happens all too often. Sometimes the owner forgets to even give away his weekend SEC games tickets.

LSU admin could do something to fix this.
If people’s butts aren’t in the seats - at any location, by X inning, open it up.

Sat in third row right behind plate thanks to a relative who knew the corporate owner. It was a Saturday SEC game.
But they are not good seats to watch a baseball game. Ump, batter and catcher block view of pitches. And depth perception is flat and much action on bases is obscured.
It was neat to hear chatter and umps calls. And sizing up the players. Have no desire to sit there again. A bit higher and offset would be prime seats to me.

If I were at the game, I would honestly have no problem with a few people going up and just taking them.

yet if you were ever to do well in life and have tickets your entire life behind the plate, you would gladly give them up later in life.....lol. You young fans are all the same.

As long as they are handsomely paid for by the decedents estate they don’t care.

I hope this board is around in 20’years. It’ll be fun to see how some perspectives change

They should hook up with a make a wish foundation and put them to good use for a sick kid.

It’s shouldn’t bother me, but does anyone else get annoyed to always see the seats right behind home plate empty?
Buy the seats and then invite your friends and family to sit with you in traffic and use public bathrooms for a few hours. As a bonus, it can be extended by weather delays on the regular.
Put your money and your time where your feelings are. “Problem” solved.

Folks just consume sports differently these days specifically younger folks, and they are going to consume on their terms and their terms are different from my generation. My brother in law is constantly getting himself all worked up over "LSU fans just are not the same" anymore - all the time.
I try to get him to learn to accept it - he can't.

the prime seats behind home plate being empty is definitely the fault of rich old farts, nice try though

Good point, the old farts just want to beat traffic or the start time is too late, the youngsters just would rather be doing something else or get bored.
To be fair yes, some of all ages stay most of the game, just not as many as back in days of old.

Why not have cheap paid seat watchers. They sit there until the corporate paid ticket holders arrive. Any number of people would love to have the job especially students.

Agreed. Start these things at 6 or 7.

I’ve fallen asleep on the couch for both games.

They probably voted in the 2020 election too.
