Off the Bench had Brady on this morning but I missed the interview, apparently he's seen them in pickup games and was going to give an update.
Anyone catch it?

Those shorts are sweet. I’m guessing they aren’t available for sale anywhere?

Not sure about the shorts, but I've been looking everywhere for the long sleeve warm up shirts with the writing on the sleeves. Those are sweet.

I was coming to post the same thing. Just like with the football team, the teams have a ton of apparel with the new Tiger head logo, but you don't find that logo on a lot of merchandise. I just don't get it. I'd love to have a simple '47 brand hat and polo with that logo. I know they have made some polos, but I seem to remember them only being anthracite or something similar.

Says Reid can really shoot it from 3. Not an explosive athlete, but very skilled. Bigby-Williams will probably back him up.

Smart and E. Williams have the mentality to step in and play right away. Both are competitive and not overwhelmed.

In the pick up game Smart and Waters are going against each other.

The players look like an SEC team physically. Some guys, Days, Williams, Taylor, look like the could be football players

Waters's physique is looking more defined and stronger. He went to the NBA camps and got a taste of the physicality it takes to play at that level. He's working hard this summer in the weight/conditioning room.

He thinks they'll be able to shoot it just fine and that offense likely won't be an issue. Question is can the freshman play man-to-man defense to the degree Wade wants them to? Most guys coming from HS have never played defense to the intricate level necessary to play at the college level.

He thinks Waters will be better just by mere virtue of having a years experience. Also thinks Waters has the mindset where he doesn't have to put up huge scoring nights to feel good about his game. He's willing to run the offense and be a distributor for the other guys.

Another interesting tidbit added was about Taylor's ability to score. Brady said he mostly had heard about Taylor's leaping ability and capability to shoot from 3; but didn't know much more than that. In the scrimmages he has seen Taylor be explosive putting the ball on the floor and going to the basket. If that part of his game continues to develop, he will be really, really good.

this is next level stuff for waters. he's already great at the college level but if he wants to play in the pros, he'll need to learn how to create space and defend that as well. much more physical. if he can get that skill, mo betta for the tigers!

that's what i've been saying on the sec rant. he won't have to be huge in every game any more. dish, occasionally create, occasionally shoot. his numbers might actually go down but he could still be improving
