This is the most assuming thing I e Ever heard

I did Think academic intelligibility worked like a suspension. Ricky Jean-Francois even played on the NC because it was a new semester.

I understand he went on a pod cast and said the same things that you mention. It was Covid related, a death in the family, then (I think) his father got Covid. There was a lot going on.

What hasn't been mentioned is that he consulted with an academic adviser and was told to drop one class and that he could make it up in the summer and not affect eligibility. Apparently, that was not true.

And, he brought his transcripts to the pod cast; he had a 3.8 average.

From what Jordy said, the amount of games he has to sit out is 15 set by the NCAA. Even though he sat out last year, last season we played 13 games with a 6-7 record. He still has to sit out two more games to get to the 15 games.

A horrible rule that makes zero sense.

Is it really that hard to understand that LSU and NCAA are still at odds with respect to Title IX, illegal inducements, and contact of recruits during dead periods all related back to coach shrimp boots? This doesn’t even begin to touch on the Wade improprieties.

Yes, NCAA is a-hole, but remember they hold all the cards. It’s moot at this point

5-star in classroom at Destrehan, too? Classroom at LSU?

If Y, why is this great news just hitting the air waves? Coach O not celebrate GPAs and his guys’ life potential after football?

It’s a crying shame what the ncaa is doing. I feel like LSU always gets screwed in these situations. Had he played at Bama none of this would be an issue.

If I was Emery I would play fournette vs auburn mad in game 3. Give him the rock 30 times.

His current GPA has nothing to do with it.

The NCAA gave him a one year suspension last August and the NCAA says that is 15 games even though LSU only played 13 games.

IMO, that 15 game deal is totally absurd. Maybe 1 team or at most 2 teams play 15 games in one season. Most teams p[lay 12 or maybe 13.

Generally Athletes aren't allowed to make changes to their schedule without approval from compliance. That is foolish if they are allowed to do this at LSU. Just opens up a lot opportunity for kids to screw up. Someone should be fired if Emery did get approval from compliance and became ineligible due to that advice.

Between completely arbitrary nonsense like this magical 15 game season for all and the way the Clearinghouse handles players, it’s hard to believe the NCAA could give less of a shite about the actual welfare of student athletes. They are some of the most ridiculous hypocrites the. Way they try to ride that high horse.

I know why the school and staff can’t talk about the situation, even if Emery would like them to. I think it’s smart on his part to try and get his real story out there. I honestly wish he could put the NCAA on blast and let them fricking have it to get news outlets covering these kinds of meaningless and arbitrary punishments. Unfortunately, they will just frick with him more if he does, so I’m sure he’s been told to limit how far he goes with it.

I have no idea that’s why I asked. It just seems like a hefty penalty for dropping a class. Also the the fact that lawyers are involved tells me there is probably something serious going on.

I guess the 15 games is in the name of equality. I’m sure this isn’t the first time this has happened. Maybe it is, I don’t know. But why should a player from a team that makes the national championship have to sit out 15 when John emery only gets 13.
