Price is the best back without question, if emery is #1 we’re in more trouble than I’d like to admit.

To me that really doesn't say much. The starting RB at Southeastern would have ran all over Oklahoma that night.

So you’re saying we are at southeastern level just Oklahoma is that bad? LSU made OU look that bad. Southeasterns back wouldn’t have done that. I know it. LSU knows it. OU knows it. SELUs back knows it. Only you don’t.

I would like to see Curry full time and the two younger backs only used to spell Curry.

Also think we will need a commitment to the run this year or we will be in big trouble.

Decent discussion in this thread but absolutely disagree with your comment. TDP looks like a stud every time he gets touches. No way he should be bumped. Curry is the one that confuses the picture. He is obviously a hard worker and tough runner that earned some looks. He has done enough to gain confidence of the coaches. He sure hits the hole hard and defenders feel him on every tackle. He feels like a 4 or 5 yard guy, but not a star. 4 or 5 yards move the sticks and is hard to complain about. Emery has the look like he can bust long runs, but just hasn't quite done enough yet. It is reasonable to keep giving him chances to see how he develops. TDP would be a legit star if he was our only good back. No way I cut him out of the rotation.

Not a fan of running back by committee. Seems like Emory is the best back capable of making big plays if he gets over 5 carries a game. Drop this 3 back BS!!!

How are things in Destrehan these days?

Three or four times last weekend I thought to myself, if they would put a fullback in and run TDP off tackle, we would certainly get this 3rd down and 2 or 3rd/3.

Instead we ran out of the shotgun and it got blown up or we got one yard.

I know we are running an offensive system, but shite we can run some different formations out there, test the defense and play to our players strengths.

I see it as a TRUE "hot hand" situation.

Miles always claimed he went with the hot hand, but it was more about practice performance. Which is perfectly fair and all coaches default to that. You have to earn it in practice to get the game touches.

However, if all 3 are ready as far as calls/plays/formations I say CSL/CEO should get away, just a bit, from the default and go with the hot hand theory.

To do it you will probably just have to dedicate series, or 2, to each RB. Who gets series 1/2, 3/4, and 5/6 can be determined by practice. But after that, run the best horse until he's tired then go to the next best.

No? What I'm saying is that the running lanes were so wide open for Curry against Oklahoma that it isn't a good game to say "wow, look how good he is." Curry would run straight forward for 8 yards without making a move and without being touched. You could have driven Mike the Tiger's cage though those holes they were so wide open.

Hence my statement, if you had taken Southeastern's running back and put him on LSU's team that night, he too would have looked really good.

I think you said it yourself, Curry is the one that has earned the trust of the coaches. That tells you everything you need to know. Emery is a change of pace from both Curry and TDP, so that's why he gets the nod. I said it in my weekly LSU video, it sucks and you would be sitting a guy that's very capable in the SEC, but that's why coaches make the big bucks.

I get that Curry is doing everything he can to get some touches. He seems like a workout warrior, high-effort guy and tough as cold rolled steel. I just think TDP has a higher ceiling and would not pull him out of the rotation. I don't like 2nd guessing coaches, but think TDP would be a star if he was the main back.

Emery. People will tell you Price, but I'm saying it, like I've been saying it. They need to give this guy the ball, consistently. Price last year would get a string of carries in some games where he could do some things, Curry got the bulk of Oklahoma. They have yet to let Emery tote the rock a decent amount of times in a game that is not already decided (like Vandy last year]. This dude is the game breaker, I promise you.

He's never going to realize his potential here if they don't let the dude get serious work. Vandy and Mizzu are perfect opponents to do that.

Plus the dude is a block away when he catches the ball, from doing something great.

No, we just don't see a home run threat with Curry, he wasn't even like that in high school. He was a tough runner though. Run heavy teams would utilize someone like him as the #1, but LSU needs explosion. Like I just said, I knew most people would pick Price, and he'd be great and he reminds me of a Fournette/Hill type RB, but we aren't running with a full back. Emery is a RB built for the spread, I'm telling people, and I'm going to keep repeating myself, over and over, if they give this guy the big share, 14-16 carries a game, he is going to begin to figure the college game out, and light up the offense.
