Looks like he might be a 6th man at Gonzaga now. Would’ve been nice to see him starting in purple & gold.

LSU brought in arguably a much better frontcourt player in KJ Williams. They also signed two (appx) top 100 C/PF freshman.

Reid was a net-negative for the team last year. That's not to say he can't and won't improve at Gonzaga. There are some great tools to build with. But it's not like LSU didn't fill his spot

He should've been the 6th man this past season when Oneal was healthy

Efton might learn how to play a full game without fouling out….

He's timid and week. He needs to add 40 pounds and get mean. Otherwise, he won't amount to anything.

He might have been the 2nd big off the beach this year for us. Not one of the transfers I would lose sleep over

The drop off from KJ to Efton is significant.

Major upgrade for LSU albeit for just 1 year.

Might not be the worst thing for his development. He’s still pretty raw. Should still have an important role.

The guy was soft. He was skilled, but not physical enough for the SEC.

Efton will abuse the WCC, then get owned in the tournament vs some average mid tier power conference team. He has tools you want, bet he practices awesome. I can see in 2 years him being a monster there, but LSU won’t miss him.

Efton is a very nice kid and I wouldn’t mind seeing him back for that reason alone. I’m sure CMM could coach him up.

But if he wanted to come back right now and could—whose scholly would you pull? All I can see is MAYBE Corneilous Williams, and Williams may have more long term upside; I don’t know.

But with this roster McMahon has forged, Reid would not be a savior. He’d have to fight for backup minutes. And like the projection for Williams, a redshirt year to develop might be the best thing for Efton, if he was here in place of Williams.

Of course. How could anyone deny the league officials got together to purposely limit LSU's least effective starter ALL in an effort to convince LSU to fire Wade?

I hate to break it to you, but Reid was constantly in foul trouble...because he fouled. He was often overmatched by more physical/veteran big men. There were also many times he would become frustrated and immaturely commit a dumb foul. That said, he was also a victim of LSU's "switch everything" more often than anyone because he would end up having to defend a guard out on the perimeter...something he wasn't ready to do last year.

He very well may. But it helps that he won't be going up against many, if any, Walker Kessler's and Oscar Tshibwe's in the WCC. It will be interesting to see how he performs in Gonzag's non-conf. schedule, which is usually pretty tough.

He's a young Center with solid offensive skill that has to be developed against top level college competition. He's not a particularly great rebounder or defender right now. All of that may come in time...or it may not. But relative to last season's LSU team he was more often than not a liability. Again, that's not to say he can't and won't get much better at Gonzaga. But LSU appears to have sufficiently filled his role for next season.

If he wasn't the 6th man he would have fouled out by halftime
