Just saw where he graduated! Great for him...a great Tiger! Doesn't he still hold a punt return record for LSU? Wasn't it like 99 yards?

An even 100 I thought. Was there. Place was a tomb. Super exciting player, though, and one of my favorites from childhood.

I remember him as one of the all time Tiger greats but for some reason he never gets brought up enough on this board.

Wonder what took him so long? Better late than not at all!!!!

After the Corps I lived in Lake Charles working for Boeing and we had a softball team. I played baseball at Mcneese in 81-82 and had a good arm from anywhere. It was around 91-92 and I was at SS and this young kid comes up to bat who was a jr or Sr in high school. Anyway he hits a rocket between SS and 3rd and I backhanded it and came up throwing just knowing I’d smoked him. Boy was I wrong he was already 10 yards pass first base by the time I threw to 1rst base. I was like WTF and I said who the hell is that kid -buddy said baw that Boo Kennison he runs a 4.2 and did he ever LOL. Congrats Boo

100 yard return vs Miss St in 1994. Record stood until it was tied by Chad Jones in 2009 vs the same team

LSU wasn't a very good team during his years on the roster

Long nfl career with over 8,000 yards abd 42 TDs and won the nfls fastest man race. Hope he managed that money well!
One of my all time favorites!

89 yards vs Ole Miss, Oct 31, 1959. My brother's first semester at LSU-- legendary run in an otherwise tense football game that was uneventful before that play midway through the 4th quarter

My first game in TS. Rainy, half capacity Mississippi State.
How times have changed since Curly.

I think I was there as well…pouring down raining and he’s running in the back of the end zone…I think it was MSU….correct?

It’s right at the beginning. Definitely raining.

quote:God bless anyone who was at a home game in 1994. Reading this made me go look up the box score and the season stats.
100 yard return vs Miss St in 1994
The September 10 win against Mississippi State that included this punt return was one of three SEC victories the entire season. The '94 Tigers only won two games in Tiger Stadium that season, beating State and Kentucky, who no one would accuse of being a football school in 1994, or even today really.
I'm going to guess the lowpoint of the season was losing to an independent Southern Mississippi at home, quarterbacked by Heath Graham. I was too young to remember this season and that's not a bad thing. What a difference the next decade would make.
Anyway I hope somebody reads this thread who knows Boo and gets to tell him congrats on the diploma.

^^^That's why 90's kids are the best Tiger fans. We came up during the worst era of LSU football and wear that shite like a badge of honor.
