Definitely would be thrilled with brockers, never thought Tyson lived up to the bill

Can’t believe you got 12 downvotes for that. People are obviously taking it as a slight but you are right. Hindsight proves it. Brockers was that dude and has the pro career to back it up. Tyson benefited from an absolutely loaded nearly 10 man rotation, got drafted ridiculously high and never really lived up to it. It is what it is.

You think Brockers had a better LSU career than Jackson?

It is coach speak. You are right. We will see what happens on the field. I have always gotten a kick out of the fans who take coach speak literally. it is like a politician on the campaign trail.

Yes. Dorsey is the only big defensive lineman at LSU im the last 15 years I’d compare favorably with Brockers.

It is worth pointing out that Ed O has spot on with individuals in the past... not so much when it comes to groups/squads.

Idk.. he pumped Damone Clark for quite a while

I’m discussing their LSU careers. Their numbers aren’t even comparable.

Well, you’re an ignorant individual. Look at the numbers

Then it should be mentioned that Tyson started what, like '06-'08 while Brockers only started '11 and a few games in '10.

They also played different positions - Tyson played DE and Brockers DT.

Tyson had a better career at LSU but Brockers was a better talent.

Exactly. Weird how every player comparison that O makes is to a former LSU player and many that he didn’t even coach. Smith reminds me of (looks up large successful defensive ends from LSU in the last decade). It’s as if he’s thinking “how can I appease and excite the simple minded fans during the off-season”.

There nothing "coach speak" about the first 3 references I made. More like used car salesman speak.

And even "coach speak" ought to have some measure of reality. Ed is just really immature in front of a camera.

What staff was here when they were here... Corey Raymond? How do they know how those 2 played other than watching film.

Maason has a chance to be really special. He’ll be coached well by O and Carter and by all accounts, has a great work ethic.

He gained a bunch of muscle weight during his redshirt year. He was 250 soaking weight at 6’6”.

Then you MIGHT be thinking of his NFL career (9 sacks in 8 seasons), instead oh his LSU career (18.5 sacks in 4 shorter seasons). But making it 8 years in the NFL is still a success unto itself.
