He also said he wish they had hired Davis earlier to have more time to learn his schemes.
But wait a minute. Right after he was hired, all the Rant fartknockers proclaimed Brad Davis the GOAT OL Coach even though his OL's at Florida, Missouri and Arkansas didn't produce any great Running or Passing attack.

This shite is not Rocket Science. Simplify it on the OL. Just go straight up High School Man to Man if the current OL's can't get the scheme down quickly. Better do something of substance before the SEC or it's gonna be worse than last season.

Either LSU Coordinators/Assistants are running schemes that are too difficult to learn, the Assistants can't teach them effectively or the players don't have the mental capacity to pick them up quickly? They all look lost.

So this is on brand for the Edward Orgeron dog and pony show currently known as the LSU football program.

Early in the game Ed Ingram totally missed a blitzing LB who was on the line. Ed looked right toward Shanahan whose man was going to the LSU right i.e. AWAY from Ingram. Instead of looking left to see the LB, Ingram went right toward the center. Incidentally, the RB on that play also let the LB run in untouched to sack Max who could have hit an open receiver. This crap from someone who has been around as much as Ingram is inexcusable. It is poor coaching.

Yeah, I don’t miss those days. Best way to get in game shape during camp though.

I get tired if the whole "new Coordinator" thing. A well managed team should not have such a drastic drop in performance with a coordinator change. Other teams deal with it all the fricking time.

Zone blocking scheme is about as simple as you can get. You down block to the zone side and pick up the first man who comes across your face to that side. If he goes behind you you leave him for the next OL.

RBs then read the LBs and have the possibility of multiple "holes" to pick from.

This isn't the Wing-T full of bucks sweeps, power G's, counters, and traps where on any given play you have multiple lineman moving with different jobs moving different direction.

It's a simple zone. About as basic as straight up Power-I blocking, except it's easier on the OL.

The new coach is dead weight.

Another terrible hire by coach O.

Again, coach O's judgement will get him fired.

we have to be the only program that fires the head coach and keeps 90% of the assistants

The staff that was retained from Miles' staff was:

Aranda
Ensimnger
Grimes
Raymond

Cameron, Jaluke, Craig, and Dale Peveto were not retained. We also hired Jenkins to take over DL when Orgeron was promoted from that role. So 4 out of 9 assisants were the same. I'm gonna go out on a limb and say people were ok with keeping Aranda and Raymond. As of today, not a single guy from Les' staff is still on staff outside Raymond (and Ensimnger in an advisory role).

Props to Ingram for going public with this.

O's time is limited once he's lost the players.

the point stands... what other school fires the HC and retains any assistants?

Can you not fricking read? He’s the ONLY person that didn’t get scathed in those comments. If the players wish he had gotten here sooner, what the frick does that tell you?

I actually think the new OL coach is a good hire.

But there are some massive holes on the OL, and in my opinion they start with Shanahan.

There is a night and day difference between Shanahan and Cushenberry, and in my opinion that's the difference between the good/serviceable OL in 2019 and the disaster we saw/see in 2020/2021

Not to single him out, but he seemed to be the only person on the line to have a problem with that on a few plays.

Deculus struggled with several assignments too as well as poor technique. Nobody's technique was worst than Kole Taylor. He had an awful angle on a pull block down inside the 10 on a run play that allowed too much penetration. He also had piss poor leverage at the point of contact.

That wasn't even his worst "block" though. On the play where Max Johnson threw the backwards pass, Taylor completely whiffed on his block. He looked like a clown grasping at air. It forced TDP to have to pick up the defender that Taylor missed which didn't allow TDP to help chip block another defender.

schools that promote their head coach from within? Plenty

For instance, Ryan Day at Ohio State retained Kevin Wilson, Kerry Coombs, Greg Studrawa, Tony Alford, Corey Dennis, and Larry Johnson (or almost the entire staff)

This is just a bad argument, sorry. I don't think Orgeron's management of the staff has been good, but him retaining the guys he did from Les' staff wasn't a bad move either, nor is it unusual to retain guys on staff when a coaching change happens.

You have no idea what the frick you are talking about. Maybe Sam Pittman doesn’t either, but I’m going to take him over you because I know you don’t.
