I will wait and judge his performance on the season as a whole. Still think LSU couldve done much better.

I've gone from:

- thinking Alleva was going to finally do the right thing, after the firing of Miles.

- thinking Alleva is a moron for hiring O.

- Being pumped about O hiring Canada, and keeping Aranda. And me deciding to give O a chance.

- Thinking O was a total joke after the Troy loss.

- being impressed with the way this team has played.

So, now I'm kind of back where I was preseason. Let's see how O finishes recruiting, does with keeping coordinaters, and finishes out the season. Then see where next season takes us.

There are 5 guys NFL scouts are drooling over right now

Guice - been hurt
Key- been hurt
Lawrence- been hurt
Toliver
Devin- first year starter

These are cornerstone type NFL players. Not saying we don't have other NFL players, but our most talented guys outside of this are young.

When you have to reach & put foster Moreau & Gage on a list like this then you have no point. For all the drops Gage has had you'd think he would have gotten Trey Quinn treatment.

The rant as usual cannot grasp the concept of context. It's either black or white.

We're so talented!!!!....yet don't realize our most talented players have been hurt or are first year starters. And they wonder why their are growing pains

Arden Key - stud..and future NFL star. He missed the beginning of the season though.

Devin White - beast...future NFL star.

Rashard Lawrence - beast...misses time early, battling injuries.

Ed Alexander - good...but won't lable him a future NFL star.

Donte Jackson - good...but won't lable him a future NFL star.

Derrius Guice - beast...future good NFL player. Battled injuries early in the season.

Will Clapp - good...but we don't know what his NFL future holds.

Greedy Williams - looks like a star. He's only a RS Freshman though.

Kevin Toliver - good..not sure about his NFL future.

Toby Weathersby - good..not sure about his NFL future.

Foster Moreau - probably not NFL talent.

Russell Gage - probably not NFL talent.

DJ Chark - who knows. Hard to tell about LSU WRs, when they don't have much to show for their college days with the wonderful QBs we have had.

So, I would argue that the sure NFL good talent LSU has has been hurt (outside of White). Some on your list will be late picks, or not picked at all. And some have little to no chance at all of making it in the NFL.

If LSU was THAT talented, they wouldn't have had 8 true freshmen start games this year. Not to mention the 30+ true and RS freshmen who have played.

These are not mutually exclusive options. Comprendes?

Hot garbage, really? 3 teams in top 10- nos. 1,2 and 10. Geez.

It's way too early to eat crow, let's see what happens at the end of the season and how we look.

O is trending neutral, slightly up prior to Alabama, but that wasn't a win. We just lost a game. Sure we looked pretty good in the loss, but a loss is a loss and should cause us to re-evaluate, not celebrate.

Even if we win remaining games, though, then he will have met expectations, not exceeded. And he will have met expectations in a very dubious way, via 2 horrible losses.

My issue though is this:

quote:

Will he win us a national championship? At this point I'd have to say "probably not" simply because Nick Saban is still coaching and it's hard to beat that SOB. But do I believe he will lead LSU to the playoffs within 2 or 3 years? Yes!

This reeks of lowered expectations, and is a major problem with the hire. If we don't have faith in O putting LSU in a position to win a national championship, or actually be able to do it if we get there, then what the heck are we doing?

10 teams have 3 losses or more in this 14 team conference.

The SEC is not up to its usual standards this year.

has improved greatly since the Troy loss, considering this year's team is probably the least talented team we've had in 15 years.

If you think this team lacks talent wait until next year, in particular the offense....
