For the season, he has just three walks and 20 strikeouts, a concerning ratio considering that his bat-to-ball skills made him such a highly touted prospect.
We all know Crews was a heck of a patient hitter in College Baseball. The strike outs shows you that AA pitchers absolutely fill the zone with strikes. Not many free passes as you move up.
The fact that AA pitchers fill the zone with vertical and horizontal moving strikes, is scary for players making the adjustments from College ball.
If you think about how good MLB pitching is it really makes you respect the great hitters in MLB that can hit that stuff.

Michael Jordan said he knew he'd never be a big league hitter when he got back to the dugout after a K and one of the kids asked him if they got him on a 2 or 4-seam curveball. And he had no idea.

All the dudes on here that have a kid playing 8U travel ball told me that you can’t hit like that. It’s amazing how much they know! If only Coach had put them in, they could have won state!
I'll take things that didn't happen for $400, Alex
I am pretty sure there's nobody out there teaching people to lunge at the ball

He must not have watched Crews play at LSU very often. Crews was a tremendously patient hitter.
You can be overly-agressive with pitches inside the zone. Hence front foot hitting

Langford destroyed minor league pitching last year after he was drafted
He made the Rangers out of spring training and hasn't done much while with the MLB team so far. Rangers may have rushed him too soon.in
Texas League is a hitter’s league. Eastern League is a pitcher’s league. It hasn’t even warmed up in Pennsylvania yet. Crews will figure it out.

I have no doubt he’ll turn things around.
I’d be interested in seeing his SEC Friday-only stats - feel like that would be the closest possible approximation to high-A.

Holy actual frick. These are horrible numbers
His average jumped 26 points today with just two hits. That’s how early in the season it is, and 7 of those strikeouts came when he came back from injury after sitting out nearly two weeks.

Doesnt sound like he's learning

Crews is fine. Much ado about nothing

If you are trying to jump on fastballs you can get out on your front foot if they throw an offspeed pitch that was still going to be a strike.
See Tommy White's early season this year, or any Kling AB

He will be fine. He is just too damn good to not be.

Thanks for that

Kinda surprised that Langford is already in the majors prior to Crews to be honest.
Feel like Crews is a better all around player than him once he figures it out.

He’ll be fine. Not everyone adapts as quickly to professional baseball as Skenes. Skenes is an animal.
