Crews-22
Skenes-22
Already in the MLB and got to enjoy years 18-20 in college and not in shite busses with 30 year old men
Unless you come from a poor background going to college seems to make so much more sense now
A guy like Jackson holiday obviously didn’t make a “wrong” decision, but man, especially with his money, did he make the “right” decision for 1. His enjoyment 2. His overall long term progress

Skenes won't pitch it unless they completely change up his schedule which I doubt they do. He should pitch on Sept 3 and Sept 9. The Pirates & Nationals play 4 games in between those starts
If they meet, it would give new meaning to “The ‘Big Cat’ drill.”

lol, kid was the #1 overall pick and made his debut in the bigs at 19. There isn’t an argument for him to go to college unless playing pro ball isn’t his ultimate goal. I don’t see why you’d be worried about developing properly in the minors. Gunnar Henderson plays the same position as Holliday and came to the Os from HS.

Washington has 4 games series in September with Pirates. Good chance he faces Paul

Unfortunately it’s not likely that they face each other. Skenes has been pitching on a very strict schedule (every 6 days). He should pitch 2 days before that series and the day after it ends.
Skenes should pitch 9/3 and 9/9. The series is 9/5-9/8. I would be excited if something changes and Skenes pitches in that series but I’m not holding my breath.

That would be an instant Tiger Moment classic.

False alarm. Looks like Nats changed their mind. From their page at si.com:
"Washington had previously announced that Crews would make his Major League debut on Monday against the New York Yankees. After Call’s injury, there was some question as to whether the Nationals might move up their young star's debut.
But Crews is still with Rochester, which is wrapping up a series with Lehigh Valley this weekend. He went 0-for-4 as the designated hitter in Friday’s game."

Skipping college has it benefits also. Skenes and Crews could be 2yrs away from signing their second contract. For Skenes that could be 35mil/yr. Now he is @5yrs away.
