RIP Duane ... Dale Brown's 1981 Final Four team were some of my earliest memories of LSU sports ... that was a special team for me ... I know Duane will tell Mark Alcorn hello in heaven .. God bless all the DeArmond family ..

Duane was 50. I'm not sure of the exact age of his sons. His youngest is a senior in high school, and his oldest graduated from high school a couple of years ago.

that's just terrible to hear ... i remember in those days, even though i was very young, you could not only name the starters on the 1980-81 team, but the reserves as well thanks to that song ...

Duane was a good man. I know he will be with the Lord now. I was in school during those days when he played and hung with some of the bball team. You mentioned Mark Alcorn - I became good friends with him during college as we worked on a few projects together in class. That was a real shocker. We just need to be ready when He calls us.

Amen.

May God Bless you and keep you, may he make his face shine upon you and give you peace. Amen.

We so easily get flustered about what goes on here on earth, yet we're here for such a short time. We're just passing through. Duane DeArmond - in the highest LSU Hall of Fame.

I was at Central High School (teacher-coach) and remember him well. He was the reason why we lost to Redemt. so often. A great young man. I lost my daughter about 6 years ago, so I know what his family is going through. My prayers are with his wife, sons ,and family.

Thanks for all of the updates, Ranty, even ones that bring sad news. Duane sounded like a wonderful man, and those who knew him were better for it. I will continue to pray for the family because they are the ones in pain now.

God Bless You for being such an awesome friend, and God Bless the DeArmonds.
