This is a serious problem and it raises a lot of questions. I realize we had defensive staff changes in mind, but this is horrendous. We should’ve cleaned the staff before the bowl game if holding onto them meant we’d be left in this condition. The portal window is now closed and we won’t be able to take any SEC transfers.
Did they really believe Smith and Wingo were returning or did they have no read in the room?
Have we contacted any DTs in the portal? Overton/ Nolen would be nice right about now.
This was a total blunder by Kelly and this position has become a clear weak spot for him, just like OLine was for Orgeron.

Oh yeah, I forgot about him. He’s about average, but I’ll never forget when he was running off the field and passed out like a torpedo before making it to the sideline. I can’t picture him starting unless he’s with someone elite.

LSU always guys leaving early for the draft...
MT leaving is just dumb. HOw many fans said "do we have someone else who can play for MT, he's not ready after that injury"
Let Baker and the new staff get thing's figured out..
the entire defense is a mostly a lack of jimmy's and joes...
IN the modern era of football, if you don't have an offense, you can't sniff the top 10...
Kelly will get it fixed but it's not going to happen this spring, sorry...temper your expectations and look at the big picture of how things are moving upward.

Multiple problems can be fixed at one time, I’ve read posts concerned about DL recruiting for two recruiting cycles now. This is a major problem and will likely cost LSU a playoff spot unless it is fixed when the portal opens back up.

Outside of QB, defensive tackle is the hardest position to recruit. There just are not very many big human beings who can move.
Based on everything I have seen from Kelly thus far, he has a plan. Recruiting high school and portal players is not over.
