That list goes on and on. Kevin Faulk. Cecil Collins had no experience the year he blew up. Keiland was better as a true freshman than any other year he's been here. And that's just LSU.

i'm so old, i attended LSU during the DiNardo days and got to see some awesome running backs live that include Faulk, Mealey, the Diesel(maybe the biggest waste of talent ever), and Shaun Alexander and the dude from Houston Antoine Smith i think and Fred Taylor and some others i can't think of....sorry i'm just bored...carry on

Not to mention that Ford getting 15 carries in a year and practice time, isn't really that much more experience than no carries, a little less practice time, and a redshirt.

Wait...he's over 200 pounds now? Christ. This dude was maybe a granola bar over 170 when I saw him play in the AAAA State Championship just about 3 months ago.

He was 192 lbs. when he got to campus. He's 205 now.

but he will get very little experience this year in meaningful action. the biggest thing young RB's need is time in the system to learn the checks and blocking schemes. He can get that in practice. I would think Ford will redshirt unless a couple of serious injuries occur.

I dont think Drayton is a lock at Rb. He could play safety or maybe wr. If he is as good as advertised i would like to see him, ford, and lache hurting peoples feelings in the near future.

At the risk of angering Tommy Moffitt supporters, is it really necessary to bulk up all these speed merchants so quickly? Some think this causes them to lose a half step of quickness and to perhaps lose just a dash of speed! But regardless, I think Calhoun is an outstanding athlete & will be a solid contributor to the Tigers!

Not really. RB seems to be the one position where you don't need experience. Freshmen come in all the time and do very well. If you can play that position, you can play it.

Anything less than 200 pounds for a six foot tall running back is too small. Just begging to get knocked around and injured. He's not 5'7" or 5'8" like some of those 180-punders out there.But I agree he should stay around 205. He doesn't need to go to 220 or anything like that.

I read an article in the Alanta Journal Constitution after he committd that quoted Drayton as saying that Miles suggested that he could see the field early in a T. Holiday kind of role. He's not as fast as TH, but the kid is quick for sure.
FWIW, he's about the exact same size Early Doucett was his SR year, so I wouldn't be suprised to see him at RB and split out wide some.

I saw this kid play twice in highschool last season. He's the real deal. He's an excellent runner and receiver.
