WWL insists on having non sports guys try to talk sports.

Tommy Tucker is the reason they stopped letting the morning host do the Monday morning quarterback segment with Drew Brees. Now they just play a taped deal from WWL's Marine. Brees apparently wasn't a huge fan of Tucker's often stupid off the wall questions.

I do not think there is one NFL team that will question his hands. All receivers drop balls sometimes. Two years ago (Mett's first year as a starter) we had a small case of the dropsies, but Landry's game film speaks for itself, and I do not think the WWL comments will have any credibility with anybody. His hands are elite!

I don't disagree. His height, speed, and vertical are what hurts him.

I still would love for the Saints to get him. I don't think he's a lock to be the great player everyone on this board thinks he is though.

I'd be happy with him in the 2nd I guess, though I don't think he has value there. Anything 3rd or later would be ideal.

Everyone keeps saying that he is a slot receiver (I guess due to his size). I just think he lacks the explosiveness to be a slot receiver and doesn't have the size and vertical to make up for it.

Mike Haas was a great college receiver but couldn't cut it in the NFL. Similar size than Landry, faster than Landry, great route runner like Landry, great hands like Landry, etc. Its hard in the NFL when everyone is so incredibly athletic and skilled.

It isn't really the 40 time that concerns me. It is the lack of quickness. Bad vertical, bad 3 cone drill, etc. hints at a lack of explosiveness.

For comparison, Drew Brees has a higher vertical than Jarvis and performed better at the 3 cone drill

32 vert vs. 30.5
7.09 3-cone drill vs. 7.55

That catch at arkansas in the endzone still makes me say "WOW!".

The visiting student section was in the section. We watched it in the cold from five rows up. It was probably the coolest thing I have seen up close in a football game.

When a dude like Wes Welker can make a living in the NFL I have confidence in Landry. He will get a shot at it, thats all you can ask for. That being said he is a great person, I interviewed him when he was a senior in HS and he was a really mature and polite person, either way his journey has been a success and I am happy for him. If he can secure a financial future with even a few years in the NFL then its all a success.

Landry did fine. I heard he and OBJ made some incredible catches. Hebert must be brainwashing his cohorts again.
Word on the national circuit was that Landry and OBJ stole the show-- and that's saying something since everyone seemed in awe of Mett (and his doctor). Besides, Mett through 125 passes-- somebody's bound to drop 1 or 2, even these guys.
Boy, I'd love it if either showed up at saints camp.

Every Saints fan loves the Mike Haas comparison.

Jarvis may not have plus speed but he is physical enough to get off the LOS and create separation that way. Mike Haas couldn't adjust to the more physical NFL while Jarvis crushes people on kickoffs. Two different players.

He'll find a spot on some team that will find a way to utilize him. But it's going to be tough for him, but he is a tough dude. He has to make a lot of great finger tip diving catches just because he doesn't have the verticle or speed to make it easy. 2nd round seems a stretch to me with the numbers he put up. But I think in the long run, when in gets on the right team, in the right situation, he is going to thrive.

Jarvis Landry was ecstatic about his pro day performance! Tommy Tucker needs to stay far away from talking sports!!
