All I know is he will be a fixture in my memory for the rest of my life. I'll never forget '03 UGA game
The best thing about that play is that it happened because Skyler forgot what to do and broke off his route up the field. I think he was supposed to be the backside of a flood concept, but he just had a mental bust. Thankfully, Mauck rolled his way and the rest is history.
Make that he was supposed to pick on a crossing route for Clayton.

As coach Nick Saban explained it, Green was to run "a pick route" in shielding a defender from Michael Clayton, who would then catch a short pass in the flat for a first down. LSU (4-0) faced third-and-four when junior quarterback Matt Mauck connected with Green.

I mean Jackson isn't really a true starter at any position. His best quality will be as return specialist. May be too small to play corner against elite SEC receivers. Too small to take hits at running back. More of a gimmick at WR as his best option.
Skyler Green senoir year 126 rushing 268 receiving. I could see similar numbers for Jackson. Doubt he gets more than a handful of carries.

He can be a distraction, and then a surprise on Offense, but rather him full time on Defense...Right now just hope he gets cleared....
He was practicing this summer the last I read.

Jackson looked pretty damn good at CB by the end of last season. Hopefully he gets his grades right because he will be a key piece of the secondary next season if he is.

I say cut him loose and let him be apart of special teams, offense and defense like last year but this time give him the ball more and lets see how good he really can be.
So you want him to be Adoree Jackson?

YEP... I was going to say that too. But didn't know if that was a bit of a stretch.

fake
are there ANY fakes in the playbook or misdirection? i'm sure there been some but it seems like the plays are very deliberate and don't try to disguise anything

Will Donte have a key role in the football team next year?
He had a key role last year, so I'll go with "Yes."
Jackson, White and Toliver are your three top corners. We'll have three corners on the field about 60% of the time.
Don't expect an offensive contribution; you won't get it. Nor should you. Donte Jackson doesn't bring anything to the offensive table that DJ Chark doesn't bring.
I expect Donte to be the punt returner this year.
After I posted I read this:

Holy cow, we were watching different teams last year. Guys, Donte Jackson is a flat out stud at corner. I promise you right now that he'll be drafted in the top two rounds when he comes out - probably round one. Man, some people can't see talent when it punches them in the face!

I think he is #4 behind White, Tolliver, and the freshman Smith. May be hard to see lots of playing time vs run heavy teams in the SEC when buried on the depth chart.
Gonna need to add about 30 lbs first

The look on the UGA players' faces when we started chanting LSU AFTER they scored to go ahead...
They tied the score at 10-10....we won 17-10.

Did you not watch last year? He was a starter. Smith played in front of him because he was ruled academically ineligible for spring. I'm sure he'll get his grades right and be a starter again this year. College can be a shock for some kids their first year, no matter what their major is. Time management is hard to learn at first.

After spring it seems like Aranda wants to put White inside some. If that happens Jackson and Toliver will be at CB. He needs to be on the field for Punt as a gunner, and should be in the mix at Punt Return.

Jackson is very talented, but there are just too many experienced star caliber players on offense who should be getting those touches.

I don't see much of a consistent role for Jackson this year beyond ST.
He really showed flashes last year, he's just buried behind White and Toliver at this point.
There will be some packages where he's used to blitz and I expect him to be effective there.
Hopefully he can get some more experience in non-pressure situations at CB (where his true potential lies), because he'll probably be starting opposite Toliver next year.

Keep him on defense! he started to put it together at the end of last year he might just be our best corner are not far behind. Maybe let him do kickoffs, him and Guice would be sick!

Lsu sports bio
Zero starts on defense last year per lsu sports website. Forgot about Dwayne Thomas maybe better option at slot to help in run support. Personally I would like to see tolliver and smith on the outside at 6'2 and 6'3 and let white play slot in nickel.
