Sure, but a&m had to feel a bit of pressure knowing that LSU was also going to be hiring. That may have forced then to act faster than they planned on.
Well, I think there are a couple coaches better than Schlossnagle, but I wouldn't put Bianco there. So if they beat us out for him, that's pretty bad.

I don't believe that, or don't want to at least.

We're supposed to be one of the apex jobs in this field. Resources, fan support, etc. Paul was old enough to retire, there should have been a list already made up for potential successors. When he announced he was leaving, then they should have been paring that list down to 2-3 guys, with full intent to land the first choice, whatever it takes.

Bianco is not getting hired here. Zero chance he's been offered the job and has to think it over.

Maybe there is... How do we know this is not exactly what they are doing? We don't. And neither does BR media. The only thing they know is the fake shite they've been fed.

No, my brain just functions normally. On what planet would Bianco need to mull over being offered the LSU head coach job?

Bianco would not “mull over” the LSU job on vacation.

If offered, he’d accept quickly for fear Scott would change his mind in the interim.

That's my thinking, each day that passes, if we can make it through tomorrow.

Tomorrow would be the likely day for the Bianco presser if the Bertman Mafia get their way—a Friday news dump headed into the Father’s Day weekend.

You don't go on vacation to "think this over" with current players and recruits waiting.

It's not Bianco.

Woodward is getting Bianco a pay raise - Always a Tiger - Why not make Ole Miss pay a bit more.

The timeline isn't just the biggest hint of what's going on. It's the only hint.

Do you really think Woodward was blindsided by Mainieri's retirement announcement? There were people a year ago saying that PM should step down (or be fired) before the 2021 season even began. Woodward has had almost 12 months to consider who he wants to go after as head coach.

O'Sullivan was his apparent choice, but the Florida coach's personal situation caused Woodward to move on.

Schlossnagle's name would have come up, but he decided he couldn't wait and took the A&M job after waiting a few days.

Casey's situation had a complication, and Woodward moved on.

I think his No. 1 choice is Corbin, and he's hoping that somehow, some way, Corbin will leave Vandy. Woodward may be dreaming, but LSU fans should want him to dream.

Why would Corbin leave the best setup in college baseball? I dunno. There may be problems with the people he works with. He might be tired of recruiting A-students.

He also might have a burr on his butt from his coaching peers who think, "Sure, Tim's a great coach, but anybody could win with that scholarship setup they have at Vandy."

Corbin might see LSU as the best place to accept the challenge of proving that he's every bit the great coach that the GOAT (Skip Bertman) was.

Or maybe, in the end, he'll decide that he's staying at Vanderbilt.
And Woodward will settle for his fallback guy, Bianco.

That's my theory, at least. It fits the timeline.

There have been a few posts on here about Corbin not getting along with their new AD. Could be another reason.
