At least with the BCS you had some idea (except with some of the computer algorithms) of what the criteria was.

I know that the polls are based on opinions, but they included a larger sample size and people who might actually watch and understand football.

The committee had some guidelines, but for all we know they could have decided on a team based on their team colors.

The teams competing for spots should know what they have to do to gain one of those spots.

Yes...but the original BCS before they tweaked it because USC cried about the SOS having too much weight...

How can you favor one over the other, when they have both put the same four teams in every year of the CFP's existance?

This is what I'm saying.

This is the history of CFB. No matter what system is in place, there will be complaining. People said all was good in the world now that the playoff was here.
People will also complain about the next change.

Starting at number 6, I agree with the BCS much more than the committee.

I love this new trope. The Committee is made of of former coaches (almost all coaches also played btw) AD's and some former players. They literally meet and discuss and watch tape. Vs the AP (which mysteriously is now viewed by LSU fans as better, just 16 years ago it was biased crap but i digress) the AP are sports writers/media who tend to be busy working on Saturday and are limited in the # of games they can watch.

I prefer the BCS. Let us bring back the BCS. Use it to pick the top 8 teams for a playoff. Let us do away with the conference championship games and play the first round in the first week of December. Those who make it past the Elite-8 stage, move to Final-Four and the Natty, while the losers of the Elite-8 go play in a bowl game.

That allows teams with 1 loss to still play for a NC, and it gets rid of divisions altogether. Every team plays 9 conference games and 1 power 5 and 2 cup cakes.

I still favor the old BCS ranking system. It would let multiple sec teams in if they were good enough. If that were the case with committee, they would fold and not let happen for political reasons. Therefore the the best would not be in there.Especially if we went to an 8 team playoff.

To me the BCS is the way to go. No eye test bullshite strictly real numbers into a computer system. I hope they decided to go to 8 team BCS playoff system.

What's the only conference to have 2 teams in the playoff again They also debated a 2 loss UGA vs 1 loss conference champs OU the last 2 years but hey don;t let facts ruin a good conspiracy

The BCS was 2/3 polls. The biggest controversies of the BCS were due to the computers and BTW most of the computers this year favored Ohio State or at least did before the last week when LSU added a top 4 win.

Well said Kosmo. And NO, Bama wouldn't "wipe" the floor with 7-10. LSU fans can't pick and choose when they want bama to be respected and the reason bama isn't this year is bc they are not a top 10 team.
