Of a MUST WIN opener for LSU than this years Miami game.

Simple logic, the game at Auburn looms as the most difficult game on schedule in 2018. Auburn has been a house of horrors for the last 20years for LSU, and with the way LSU stole last years game and LSU’s first true road game, it could get ugly.

Orgeron Might lose the team if LSU starts 1-2.

That game will be difficult but not more difficult than GA and Bama.

AU is overrated and Gus is still their coach. He blew a 20-0 lead to a guy who couldn’t beat Troy.

If Ed didn’t lose the team after Troy he’s not losing them because of losses to Miami and Auburn, though I’m sure plenty around here would love for that to happen.

Bama anywhere has given us more problems than AU

No it doesn’t.

Not saying LSU will win, but beating AU on the road will not be more difficult than beating Bama it UGA at home. Both of those teams are significantly better than AU.

Hell, historically LSU has done much better on the road against Bama anyway.

It'd be a bummer to lose the Miami game, but what if we win out?

So technically the Miami game is not a "Must Win".

what a difference a few years make. The opener against Oregon was a must win for title implications. The opener now is a must win because we have a shrimp boat captain as head coach and a punk at AD who can't afford a slow start. Sad.

I can't wait to come on here after the game.

If we win, "Guys, I think we have a chance to win the national championship."

If we lose, "We are young, we will get better, no one was expecting more than 7 wins anyways."

September 2018 to February 2019 will determine Orgerons career and legacy.

You don’t have to go back to 2011. 2016 opener vs Wisconsin had title implications.

We’re two years removed from that. Amazing how much can change this quickly.

I can’t wait for another Email from Joe bragging about the new nutritional center and how well the women’s gymnastics team is doing.

Joe may be a complete disaster of an AD but he’s not a moron. He knows exactly what happens if LSU starts 1-2.....

That Miami game will set the tone of the whole season. A win will bring confidence and show that the Tigers are in it to win big. A loss will set a snowball downward trend in motion, IMHO.

Just like when we lost to Troy, we spiraled downward with losses to UF, Auburn, Arkansas, aTm, and Ole Miss

Miami and Auburn are consensus top 10 teams this year, neither of whom LSU plays at home. LSU will be the betting underdog in both games. Splitting these two games would not be an awful result.

LSU will lose a large part of its fan base if they start 1-2. I don’t see a Orgeron losing the team. Contrary to what many fans like to think, losing a couple tough games happens to all teams and the players don’t revolt or quit just because of that.

Most importantly for Orgeron, a slow start will get rumors of his replacement started. He has no real equity at LSU to help him when things go south. That said, Saban has more equity than any coach in football and if he starts 1-2, a certain segment of his fan base will be arguing he has lost his edge. It’s the nature of the business.

I saw teams quit on Archer, Hallman, and DiNardo. It happened after many more losses than a couple to start a season.

You forgot to include Tennessee and with the exception of Auburn those teams were terrible and most ended up firing their coaches.
