Don’t take Crews for granted fellas

This kid might just be the best player to ever don a LSU baseball uniform
And we get him for another year

I posted a thread earlier asking if he would go down as the GOAT. He’s going #1 overall next year.

I still think the most complete everyday player was Bregman.

He's going to be a star in MLB. He has it all.

Crews reminds me of a Mikie Mahtook but smarter at the plate and more talented.

He’s smooth and effortless in pretty much everything he does. His swing. Chasing down balls. Running bases. Throwing. Nothing looks like it’s hard to him.
Quite a player we are fortunate to have.

Watching him this week, he looks to have made a mental adjustment on pitch recognition, and just looks better at the plate, scary for the SEC ….

He’s not gonna have the numbers that some of the previous guys did because of the bats, but he’s the most talented overall player and will likely have the best MLB of anyone outside of maybe Albert Belle. That’s a dude we take for granted. He was a HOFer before he got hurt. There was a window there when he was unbelievable.

He’s definitely a “stud muffin”

Probably so. But Brandon Larson is at least in the conversation.
Best glove on the team, an All-American SS.
AND simultaneously the best hitter on the team with 40 HRs in '97 (LSU record), 118 RBIs, and a 381 BA.
He didn't do it for 3 seasons, and his pro career fizzled out early, but that 97 college season is probably the best all around season ever.

He’s definitely top 6 everyday players in LSU Baseball players today, IMO.
In no specific order:
Walker
Larson
Bregman
Crews
Furniss
Cresse

DJ was really really good. Todd Walker and Eddie Furniss were effortless when they swung the bat. Todd was an outstanding second baseman as well. Jeff Roubelet was really smooth. I don’t recall how good of a hitter. Position players.
GOAT pitchers is another story. Lots to choose from. Different bats impact that as well.

The Rant doesn’t care about defense, but I do. While Crews is very good defensively, he doesn’t bring anything really special. He’s a very good all around outfielder. Bregman was a good offensive player and a great defensive SS. Both great players. Bregman was sort of the flip side of Crews; one great offensively, and strong, but not great defensively; the other just the opposite.
And that’s just recent times. Todd Walker and Brandon Larson are two other great ones.

Love him, but it’s pretty well known he was “enhancing”

I really hope he gets to experience Omaha and cement his legacy.

Bregman was great except when it counted the most

I talked shite early in the season about him being overrated and not clutch. I was way wrong.
