Two days ago:
"I do believe [he can go pro]," Orgeron said. "But obviously he has to do two things, he has to kick off and I think he can but I do believe he has a bright future. But I felt the same about Cole [Tracy] and Cole's not kicking right now, I think that with a limited roster you have to do two things."

Cade York yesterday:
“…with York booting his lone opportunity not just out of the end zone, but into the stands…”

There's a difference between York and Tracy. York has the distance, as well as accuracy. If Tracy could consistently make them from 50+ he would be in the league.

He’s better than half the kickers in the pros with his accuracy and leg strength: 12-14 from 50+ in his career at LSU.

Exactly. I found O’s quote odd because the two kickers are so different.

No comparison between York and Tracy. York has plenty of height and depth on his kicks, even 50 yarders. Tracy had to kick line drives from 40plus. York has a bright future in the nfl, Tracy was never considered an NFL kicker.

York has some work to do. Yesterday warming up for the second half, he tried 65 and 63 yarders. Not even close. Well short. Then moved up to 55 and easily cleared it. Might have been good from 60+. Maybe even 63. Cleaner strike on the ball. He is much more comfortable from inside 60. Still some work mentally to be ready from 60+.

That kickoff was tremendously high and deep. Impressive.

No one in the NFL gives a shite what he looks like from 60+

York is definitely a late round pick, which typically means you are an extraordinarily good kicker

I've seen Cade York play in high school. I've said this before. Not only is he an excellent field goal kicker his kick offs went through the end zone. And for those of you worried about a back up punter, he can do that too.

I didn't even realize that was him. That ball landed right in front of me

How many 60+ yarders does your dumb arse think are being attempted in the NFL?

Why would O bring saying stuff like this?Sounds negative to me. Hopefully I’m interpreting it wrong…

I didnt either. I saw the ball clear the ground level seats and couple rows up in the grandstand and then I looked back upfield and saw York picking the T up…

York is going to play in the NFL a long time. He has the leg and he's shown he can make the high pressure kicks

Eh. I think he’s trying to keep York hungry and humble. Kicking is so mental. I didn’t think it was negative.

York is the Joe Burrow of kicking and Cole Tracey was the Danny Etling.
