Mediocrity used to be much easier to live with.

I don't understand why this is so hard to get. it's like posters on here who were born before 1982 want every fan to have to suffer through 1991-1994.

with better results and better resources come higher expectations. this isn't a very complicated forumla.

I'm sure Ed is happy to have one more excuse. Add "The players were sad because fan support is down" to the list

I think fan support would actually be up. Donations would be down though. Those oldies that don't make it to the games anyway give up their tickets to people that will actually attend.

I guess the better option would have been for LSU to pay a coach $75 million over 10 yrs to come in and suck hind tit to Saban. It doesn’t matter what coach LSU brings in, as long as Saban is at Bama, they are going to be the top dog.

bob stoops ?

Even in his first year as head coach we were not mediocre - which means "ordinary or average" Were made it to a great bowl game and beat a really good AU team. We aren't average. 6-6 is average. KY is average.

We lost to Troy. We lost to MS State by 30. We beat Auburn after they went up by 3 TDs and completely took their foot off the gas. We had a senior QB, a stud RB, and a top 10 defense. We lost our bowl game.

In my book, that's pretty mediocre.

The article Tiger Ree posted yesterday is all smoke and mirrors. Fails to address overall donations to TAF and clearly lumps new ticket holders with renewals. Also lies about there being a waiting list.

Is this a brag? Why not continue to support the university you love and supported when we were dog shite for decades?

Where are their seats? Because I'd like to scoop them up!
Please dont stop donating to the University, because of a sport. But if you are giving up your tickets. Then pass them on to me.

While I don't think they are settling for mediocrity. I do think they have their priorities in the wrong order.

You can’t compare the 2, IMO.

Stop bringing up the 90’s. We were a doormat and were expected to be a doormat.

The article was about season ticket renewals not about TAF donations. Can you not understand that?

quote:

clearly lumps new ticket holders with renewals

Clearly DOES NOT. It said renewals are down 1% from last year and that is before opening it up to the waiting list? Do you problems reading or is it comprehension issues?

You do not know there isn't one. You need to quit getting all of your LSU information from this website.

The renewal rate is expected to increase as officials open new purchases to a waiting list of fans

100% proof that they are bending words and playing with numbers

The renewals we are discussing is when a season ticket holder decides to come back.

Its not possible for this renewal rate to INCREASE because of new sales.

By this logic you could have 100% of all season ticket holders cancel their tickets but long as you sell their tickets to new holders you have somehow a 100% renewal rate.

Sounds more like LSU is looking at bigger picture numbers instead of individual renewals. It wouldn't sound good to say we had 10k season ticket holders cancel for 20k seats but we found 6500 people to take their place.
