Braun just had one of the better freshman seasons in LSU history here
Only way Santarelli is starting this year at 1B is if we have some injuries in the OF and they feel they have to move Braun out there to cover it.
He may not even be the 2nd best 1st baseman on this roster, Dylan Minnatee is someone people should be really excited about. I'm not saying he's Tre Morgan 2.0, but you will see alot of those comps over his time here being a very slick defensive 1B around similar size to Tre as well.
Santarelli is rated so high simply because of his ridiculous exit velos. He hit just above .200 in a travel ball league last year and Wisconsin high school baseball is pretty terrible competition. He will take time to adjust and be able to hit pitching at this level. Sure he could be a 15-20 HR guy right away but he's also probably hitting somewhere around .200 doing that year 1 (with John Pearson like .175 BA against SEC teams or something).

Nah -
He'll get some action in different spots, especially mid-week games. He needs to show he can hit something other than a fastball. But he's got ELITE power. Crazy exit velocity for a kid his age.

Breaking a record isn't impossible nor crazy hype. I just think he's going to be very special for all 3yrs. Combine all 3yrs of stats, I just think a record of some kind, hitting wise, could get broken.... if I'm wrong, cool. Won't hate the guy or think he's a loser, so what's the problem?!
