LSU doesn’t play a straight up man defense which makes defensive rebounding tougher.

Lol oh the irony. The Kentucky teams of the mid 90s were probably the most successful pressing/trapping teams of all time. The 97 team finished ranked 160 in defensive rebounding, we’re currently 116th. So I guess those teams who played for 2 straight national titles just weren’t good defensive teams by your logic. Double standards and ignorance, your calling cards.

His “clueless”, “ignorant” and “young” insults he throws is just insecure overcompensating because he knows that’s what he is. Just look at how the vitriol in his responses escalates when faced with facts or data.

Neither blocking out NOR rebounding in general is this team's big problem.

You done it now. Our resident basketball experts will be on here correcting you, telling you that you don't know basketball, low basketball IQ, etc. Lol. It's quite comical really, because they actually believe they are smarter than the average fan.

Do not talk down to Madking. His knowledge is far superior than yours. If you don't believe me, just ask him.

No just smarter than you and anyone who thinks any college coach wouldn’t work on boxing out and rebounding. It’s a ridiculous question but of course you buy into it cause you’re an idiot.

You didn't see me supporting that at all...I was just pointing out how you specifically try and talk down to posters that have different views than you. This isn't a good fundamental basketball team.

A view or an opinion based on false information that’s been corrected yet repeated isn’t a view at all. You and people like you constantly make things up and lie just like you’re doing here. This guy, like you is always leading with insults but it’s him being talked down to? You’re such a lowlife and so dishonest it’s pathetic.

LSU could and probably should be a much better defensive rebounding team. It has been a weakens under Wade. But that is only looking at one end of the floor. LSU has been a tremendous offensive rebounding team under Wade. They have been a top 25 offensive rebounding team 3 of the last 4 years...including this year.

For reference, LSU's total rebounding rate is better than the following potential/likely NCAAT teams:

Providence
Alabama
Villanova
Tennessee
Texas
Virginia
Iowa
Wisconsin

They are a 1.0 % or less behind teams like:

UCLA
Ohio St
Xavier
Duke
Auburn

Certainly LSU could be a better rebounding team. But to suggest they are a "bad" rebounding team relative to the competition is simply incorrect.

I'm all for differing opinions. It provides the basis for good discussion. But at least have an INFORMED opinion

Trapping teams force a lot of turnovers and do give up more offensive rebounds than upper level half court defensive teams. I mentioned Petino’s dominant Kentucky teams, Arkansas’ 40 minutes of Hell teams were the same. If you’re forcing 18+ turnovers per game that’s 18+ possessions where there’s no chance of a rebound happening but still a huge advantage to your defense.

Man do we screw up some easy 3-1 breaks, it’s infuriating. Most of the time when that happens we give up the ball before we force the defender to commit. It happened a couple times again against UGA. Not converting in those types of situations and point blank shots has been the biggest issue for us this season.
