We blamed Crowton for the same garbage we witnessed once JJ returned. Do the WRs from Toliver on down realize that nothing changes under Miles?

With no receivers around, they will surely go to a fun and gun offense

Miles throws the ball when has a QB he can trust. He didn't trust JJ or Lee. I'm hoping he trusts Mett and he's as good as advertised.

You're talking like we've ran the ball 70% of the time since Miles got here.

Lee was the SEC effiecient leader, and had one of the most productive offenses in the NCAA, at one time

Yet Miles couldn't run fast enough from him

Players knew what went out. They now want out

We actually had a nice offense when Lee was under center this year. My favorite play all year was when Lee looked off the safety in the WVU game on 3rd and long. I sat there and thought "We are an actual offense."

Remember earlier this year when we actually got to the LOS and didn't look confused?

Yeah, crowton wasnt a problem at all.

He just got fired after one year at Maryland after causing that talented promising qb to regress.

But no, he wasn't a problem at all at lsu.

Some of you are awesome.

Obviously Mettenberger will run the ball 15 times a game. Or we will start Randall for the next 4 years.

How can anyone not see this?

After all, JaMarcus and Matt Flynn were both forced to run the exact same offense as Jefferson as well.

this is the offense les wants to run. it's got his stamp from his early days all over it. you will see the same offense as the first 8 games of the year under jlee. dont expect mett to throw over 20 times.

the year after, if mett returns, it might open a little more. but with the backs we can throw at people in the second half especially, dont look for it to change.

oh and ill say it again, no one had a problem with les's offense until tuesday. so it's not really a big deal.

I imagine people thinking the offense will be dramatically different are going to be disappointed. LSU will still only sling it 15-20 times a game IMO

It's just ironic that we have had some very highly ranked recruits come through LSU, and they are now in the pros...and finally we get a QB to get them the ball. But the WR's we have coming back aren't elite IMO. I think they are great, but it would've been better to have Randel come back, or even Shep.

JaMarcus and Matt Flynn

I remember the two games JR lost were due to lack of offense

I also remember one of the games Flynn lost, a 100 yard rusher was benched at halftime

I sense a pattern. LSU has superior talent, but not enough that Miles cannot screw it up

And the offense had its best stretch of games against WKU, Ole Miss, and Arkansas, while Jefferson was the QB.
All year we overcame our struggles at QB with the running game and big plays on defense and special teams. When we faced teams with good to great rushing D's we struggled.
QB was always this teams problem with both Lee and Jefferson.
Hopefully that changes with Mett.

Matt Flynn threw the ball A LOT. Early Doucet was all over the place that year when he was healthy. I think Miles played to the strength of this team which is in the power running backs we have this year. QB will be more important in the future when he has talent he can trust.

Looks that way. Is LM just plain pig headed? This is getting really weird.

One in which Miles stuck a dagger in the heart of when JJ was allowed to take 14 carries a game away from them.

The players want no part of that type of decision making

Lee and Jefferson were not very good QBs. If Miles runs the same offense with a good QB they will be fine. The run got stuffed and Jefferson(nor would have Lee IMO) was not able to handle the pressure.
