This is a quote from the paper today "The year a bowl site hosts the national championship game, it also gets the last pick in the BCS selection process"
My bad...I was going off memory from the BCS Site I read a few days ago...Sugar got 1st pick for Jan 2007 games, I was assuming the 2007 season...you're correct!

Hawai'i should make LSU nervous. Brennan throws 50-60 times a game and is very accurate. It won't be the cake-walk every is expecting, that's for sure.

Np, but IMO would love to see Hawaii play LSU. Would love to see how they stack up to a BCS team. Boise St "wowed" the tv viewers last year.

I know our D isn't all its made out to be, but it's still a top 25 Defense...

From what i have heard, the game is not a sell out. They have to reserve like 16-17,000 tickets for the schools and right now, we don't know who is going. So how is this a sell out?
Secondly, The Sugar Bowl committee also cares about how the city of New Orleans will profit financially. How many people you think are flying in from Hawaii to sleep in the hotels and watch the game? Too expensive. There will be some, but not as many as you think or the committee would like.
I think it will be a sell out b/c the other team will buy up most of Hawaii's tickets, but the city will not make as much if LSU or Tenn would play Mizzou, Kansas, etc. instead of Hawaii.

LSU would have first option to take the extra tickets UH "gave" back, that or a bunch of scalpers would buy them from UH anyways...

This is true...they are, however, benefitting from the extra game this year so we'll see

You mean the same Hawaii team that needed OT to pull off a 1 point win over La Tech?

Brennan is still one of the best QBs in the country too.

What is wrong with you people? I remember two years ago people were gagging at the thought of playing West Virginia in the Sugar Bowl, the horror of playing such a non-traditional power. Well, how'd it feel when we didn't even get to that game because UGA kicked the crap out of us, then fell behind 21 pts to that W. Virginia team and lost.
Have ya'll watched us play the last 6 games? Victory over Tennessee is anything but a lock. At this point, I'd take any BCS game, I don't care about the opponent.

I'm feeling the same way I felt when several people were saying we were going to wipe out Ark. I am concerned about their pass attack.

I've watched them play 7 or 8 times this year and I am concerned too!

Colt Brennan is averaging 373.2 yards passing per game, has a completion rate of 69.9%, has 33 TDs, 3,732 yards and a rating of 163.4
That will put the LSU defense to the test.

LSU will have a hell of a time stopping a team that throws 50-70 times again. Hence the Oklahoma/Texas Tech game. Okie couldn't stop the pass either

Ratings

Hawai'i has a large fan base across the country. Don't think ratings would be a problem.

I think LSU is in a situation like they were last Sugar Bowl against Notre Dame. Its not a very good match up. I would rather play Kansas or someone else from a BCS conference. Against Hawaii, if we beat Hawaii the media would be like big deal they were outmatched, if we lose then we will be perceived as overrated. Doesn't matter I who we play though because like last year I will enjoy the after party on Bourbon St.!! Geaux Tigers!!
