Yep, but Negas gonna Neg. the real problem is Alleva. Fire Alleva before he does to our program what he did to Duke Lacrosse.

The fact we cut his buyout in half to allow him to leave is very telling

You can like Miles or hate him, but if any objective person can't see that Alleva has been trying to chop him off at the knees for several years you're kidding yourself. That's not the way a professional handles business - you give your employee every opportunity to succeed, and if they don't, then you replace them. But you don't take small-minded steps to undermine him while he is still trying to win games for LSU.

Thanks for the info, and well said.

I don't believe Steele was told to leave. I think he initiate the move to Auburn. He's back in Alabama working with family and LSU has a young defensive guru for 2016.

Win/Win for all.

Explain to me how this infamous "Les Miles clause" is any different than any other contract that assistant coaches across the country receive?

Most contracts if you fire the coach early then you have to pay the full contract to get rid of them. The "Miles Clause" stated that the coach would only be paid for six months after Les was fired or retired no matter the length left on contract. It was Alleva basically saying Les has only a year or two left and now that Les won a power struggle he got the clause removed to hire a better assistant.

one guy has it removed, I actually think Alleva approved of this hire is what I think... Aranda is the only one without the clause.

Why would he approve it this year over last. My belief Les was told he can hire Aranda without the clause and he told Steele "hey Kevin your brother in law at Auburn is on the phone you should probably talk to him."

Maybe a mutual divorce with Steele given the amount of pressure on Miles? After Miles kept his job most everyone figured something had to give on the coaching staff.

I just think Miles knew about it and already had the deal done before the bowl game.. If Steele was cool and said "hey yo Les, bout to bolt G, Aubbie givin more ends feel me homie.? Plus dey got dat retirement shite an all.. well, that gives Les time to getter done.

I don't think that's a given. You are making some logical leaps to come to that conclusion.

What we can say for sure is that, given the quickness of the hire, Miles at minimum knew EXACTLY who he wanted and moved right away to make it happen. I think it's reasonable to speculate that Miles knew about Steele well before it was public and had already moved to replace him.

that is not a fact. it has been reported that steele and auburn will share the cost of the full buyout. LSU gets 500k
