LSU looked horrible against the only defenses with a pulse.

This has been said way to many times and is revisionist history. The Florida game LSU moved the ball very well just didn’t put it in the end zone mostly because of player error. Bama game was bad but I am willing to give Ensminger the benefit of the doubt since he was using another coaches playbook.

I’m not sure if ensminger is the answer or even if I want him to be OC (will worry about that when the position is actually open) but he is well respected in coaching circles and has a lot of coaching experience.

Define clearly. Because the question didn’t mention anything about bowl games or interims and neither did the answer.

I think it could be taken either way, but neither were clear.

It just goes to show you don’t know anything about football. Ensminger has forgotten more about football than you will ever know.

Exactly

SE has been very clear that he does NOT want to be OC on a consistent basis.

Stop it people.

I remember when Ensminger and Woodley split time at QB for LSU. That being said he would be step back in playbook and philosophy. The perception right or wrong would hurt recruiting with young kids. Look even Saban has looked to future and embraced spread concepts. If O can't grasp that he won't last long as LSU head coach.

He did a very solid job last year all things considered. I'm honestly surprised by the unwarranted hate he's getting.

Which is funny considering we honestly didn't run that much true spread this year. For all the motions and shifts, the end result was sure still a ton of heavy sets slamming the run game.

No I think it’s just that realistic people know we are one bad coordinator hire away from being in big trouble.

I think Canada was a good choice. It’s clear O had (has) his hand in play calling. It’s affected the relationship and the product on the field, especially at the beginning of the season. What’s to stop O from bringing in a guy he can dictate to? Run the offense and plays he wants? Do you have confidence Os offensive and philosophy is sound and effective?

I want to be wrong. I want the Tigers to come out next year and freaking own the bitch of a schedule we have. 10 wins next season should put O in contention for Coach of the Year.

But I look at the body of work, especially during the off-season and first two months of this season. And i look at the fact that State made a great hire, Mullen at Florida is scary, Arky is looking at a new coach, and the potential of Jimbo at aTm, and I get very, very nervous.

Just on paper, getting out of Sept 3-2 would be fantastic.

No. It's overreaction. I don't believe O meant as a permanent solution, just meant ensminger would finish the season in that role if Canada left. Contrary to popular belief around here, ensminger did great calling the plays last year on short notice and working with what he had.

I mean if you go read the other stuff I said to that other guy who accused me of being an “O hater” you’ll see that you’re wrong. I have been saying since the florida game that O was going to finish the season strong. I was simply confused about this entire situation and also O didn’t exactly make any sense with a few of the things he said. I just don’t want us to hire Ensminger bc it’s a step in the wrong direction. So excuse me if I don’t like hearing that we’re potentially hiring ensminger as OC if Canada is gone. And another thing, I didn’t once mention O or O running off Canada so why the frick would you think that this has anything to do with him? I’m on board with coach O.

Some people keep saying that, but all Coach O said was that he would strongly consider Ensminger for the OC job. I never heard Orgeron say "just for the bowl game." I won't be surprised to see Ensminger hired permanently for that post.

He did do a solid job, except against Alabama and Florida.

But it wasn't a true pro-style offense with the fullback in the "I" and one tight-end like Coach O is talking about wanting to run.

I don't have a real problem with Ensminger being the OC if it comes to that, although I really want Coach Canada to stay if I had my preference. The thing that worries me is Coach O's saying he want to run a pro-style offense like they ran at USC, with a traditional FB and tight-end. To me, that is a step backwards. Those type of offenses are too predictable and not flexible enough in terms of personnel fits, imho.

That may be what he intended to say, but that clearly was not the read I took.

I do agree that many are over reacting to O's comment about hoping he gets a head coaching job.

I also think that clearly not all is peaches and cream with Canada and O.
