HELL NO
CLM has never coached his way into a BCS game, he has gotten there through the back door. After last nights game I am even more convinced this guy will never coach his way into the big games.

I don't claim to be an expert on Mile's contract, but I've pretty much been led to believe it's a 4 year roll-over --- meaning it's allways got 4 years remaining... now he has not gotten a raise the past two years -- but the contract is still 4 years "remaining".

IMO -- LSU would really show stupidity if they do NOT work real hard to keep Les Miles at LSU for a long time to come.

No. We aren't a 10-2 team, we just happen to have that record. We are never prepared. The staff gets outcoached the majority of SEC games. Our offense is absolutely terrible and underachieves given the talent like no other unit in college football.

Really??
He outcoached Saban and Meyer..
Our Offense IS terrible.. but they managed to work to the advantages and win 10 games - which would be good coaching in my mind..

And our talent is no better than Florida's, Bama's, or a multitude of many other BCS schools.. yet we have a better record than all but a few of those....

But I guess that's what shitty coaching gets you..

No, you don't get it. I don't hate him.

I just don't happen to be all over his nuts, which apparently makes me stupid.

He's below-average SEC coach, why can't you just accept that?

Debatable, seeing as both of their teams had pretty uncharacteristic down years, but for the sake of argument this is what, the first time he's outcoached Saban in 4 tries? Same with Meyer?

Good coaching? If the offense is abysmal (and has been that way for several seasons now), and the defense is giving up hail marys before halftime, how on earth can you argue that the 10 wins are due to good coaching? It's much easier to attribute other things (such as our talent level and several other programs being down) to the 10-2 record.

But we can't beat Arkansas, should have lost to Tennessee, and squeaked out wins over Ole Miss and UNC.

When we go 8-4 next season and don't benefit from the lucky bounces we did this year (Tennessee fiasco, half of UNC not playing, fake FG flip that was an inch away from being a forward pass) and in '07, and finish 3rd/4th in the West again, you'll begin to see the light.

ESPN and everyone else don't hate LSU, they just recognize that we're empty suits.

Yes. He should get an extension.

Cry your little eyes out. We had an AMAZING year considering we don't have a QB.

What the hell.. 10-2?
If he cant go 12-0 every year and win the NC every year then we need someone from The Rant to coach this team!

I will agree if he fires crowton.

I just think his offense is way to complex for some college athletes to understand. I remember a guy telling me, his playbook he has is the same one he used when he was OC for the bears, and that it was one of the bigest in the nfl.

Overall i say yes, give him a year extention.

No kidding. Les Miles has turned us into the kind of teams that we used to hate. Big Ten teams like Michigan and Ohio State that routinely were ranked for no reason and then exposed by SEC teams.

I agree. We won many of our games in spite of ourselves, because we had better talent. I am really perplexed when I heard Les say in his post game news conference, "I would like to have seen Ridley have a couple more runs in the game." I thought he was the head coach. This is when I have issues with him and his seeming lack of leadership. We are an elite football program with a marginal offense and pitiful quarterback duo. And YES: when a team uses 2 QB's, it's because they don't have 1. There are changes, significant changes that need to be made before he gets more $$$ or an extension. Alabama was the game I waited 2 years to see. I hope it won't be another two years until we get a repeat.

Miles is 2-2 against Saban
and what??
2-3?? against Meyer?

Do you think the bama and Florida fans are like.. shite well our offense just sucked this year.. let's fire the coaches and see what we get next year?
Hell no.. they both have extreme talent on offense and couldn't really capitolize..

And according to you they had off years.. but our year was so off that we should fire our coach.. even though we beat both..
Take your head out of your arse.. and review the situation.

You'd rather lose than squeak out wins??
I've said it before and I'll say it again..
Bama was 25 points away from being 9-4 last year.
we were 25 points away from being in the national championship game last year.

There is no domination in this league.. Win. That's it.
You don't like wins? Be a vandy fan.

Miles' first win over Saban is meaningless given that was his first year; Saban also outcoached him in that game, and that was a 6-6 Bama team. (A perfect example of Leslie's specialty, allowing clearly inferior teams to push us to our limit before we squeak out victory [as we are then disregarded by the media and called out for being unimpressive/pretenders.]) He's 3-3 vs. Meyer, and it took 5/5 on 4th in '07 and a fake FG flip in '10, with both Florida teams being below-average at the time as well.

Ok dude, but we've had extreme talent on offense (probably second to none) and haven't capitalized in THREE YEARS. Why reward Miles for it?

Take your head out of Leslie's arse and actually read what I said. I never advocated firing him. I merely said he doesn't deserve an extension due to the complete ineptitude of the offense, something that hasn't changed in 3 years. "Review" yourself.

Win what? 8 is probably Leslie's realistic average season. This past season's 10 will (in retrospect) be found to be uncharacteristic of the new LSU. Every bounce fell our way. We're awful compared to the usual 10-win SEC team. Again, win what? A divisional crown? How long until our next one? How long are you willing to wait?

10-2 is nice, certainly an improvement from the last two seasons in terms of record, but we're essentially the same team now as we were against UNC. On offense we're actually probably the same team as we were against Washington. The progression is simply not there. When things go back into equilibrium next season and we're sitting at 8-4 and our offense still looks like crap (not to mention the defense is suffering the losses of PP7, Shepard, and Nevis), are you going to advocate he get another extension?
