We got to the final game in the CES last year and lost to FL. Reset your venom.

You mean to tell me that without the great players that Mainieri recruited, developed and coached, that team wouldn't have been as good? Breaking fricking news.

Wait but don’t we blame the coaches when players leave early? Now we are using that against our coaches when they stay? Some of you will go to such great lengths to discredit anything good that a LSU coach has done.

I’m not even going to read what you wrote but based off your title of your thread you don’t watch or know enough about baseball. They dude just took us to a national championship last year.

You think Kirby smart is on a hot seat after taking Georgia to a national championship and losing. Not a freaking chance.

Pitcher injuries and core infield have been injured all year. You don’t fire a coach that keeps you in the top 10-15 all year every year. There is too much parody in NCAA/SEC baseball compared to football. LSU fires him then who? You cant win championships year in and year out. Look at South Carolina. They won 2 years in a row and now are bottom feeders. Get a grip.

He got to the Championship game last year. We didn't fire Miles the year after we lost to Bama in the championship game. We gave him 4 years.

It is occasionally necessary to rebuild. Manieri is the best baseball coach since Skip.

Last 5 years Maineri- 3 CWS with a runner up Miles - no BCS bowls No top 10 finishes So they aren’t similar at all

Les played in the title game and finished 2nd, so your math is a bit off. That game was in 2012, they tried to fire him in 2015, fired him in 2016. Thats less than 5 years.

Does Manieri get a longer rope than Miles did?

I don't think anyone at LSU is even thinking about giving PM walking papers. This type of talk is limited to Rant and it would take a few losing seasons in a row to even think about getting rid of PM. Les refused to change the offensive play calling at LSU and was stubborn beyond imagination and though he was bullet proof.

The LSU baseball program needs some pitchers to come through and less injuries.

Simple answer YES!

While I see how someone could want to think both coaches are similar, they aren't.

That was the 2011 season
So he had 12,13,14,15, and was fired 3 games into the 16 season and in those seasons he lost 3+ games every year and played in mediocre bowls with top 5 talent

Paul
13- CWS- 0-2
14- regional lost
15 - CWS - 1-2
16 - super regional
17 - cws runner up

Nicely put together.

I can respect arguments against Orgeron, Miles, etc. I have zero patience for people who want Mainieri replaced. Total and complete ignorance.
