Does Manieri get a longer rope than Miles did?

They both won a title early in their tenure. Both began to get complacent and stubborn. Both are not terrible coaches but have reached their plateau. How much longer can CPM last without an attitude adjustment and a new commitment to excellence?

Their careers at LSU are becoming to look very similar.

given he made it to the CWS finals less than a year ago, I'd think he's in a much better position than Miles.

Well the precedent has been set.. PM will be fired mid season in disgrace a year after a national championship run. Ochinko will be promoted to head coach. It is the Alleva way

Miles was in the BCS championship game in 2011 and then the decline started.

We played for a national title less than a year ago. I understand the frustration with CPM, but you can't honestly recommend replacing him at this juncture.

First and foremost, we need to see what's going on the AD position and football. We don't need 47 irons in the fire at the same time.

Maineri played for the title last season and who knows how it turns out if Walker doesn’t get hurt

Also Maineri’s resume >>> Miles’ resume at LSU
Sec Baseball is also tougher than Football

Now if Maineri has a couple more seasons where he doesn’t compete he should be let go

Literally in the finals in Omaha last year and finished #2.

Lots of injuries this year he's dealing with.

This is ridiculous.

I'm not calling for his job, but if we put together a string of subpar seasons I wonder how long it will drag on.

If 10 months ago playing for the national title is a plateau then let's stay on that plateau

Meh... Mainieri had an awesome season last year similar to 2011 with Miles.

If CPM has a couple more seasons like this, then yea, the seat might warm up.

He needs to go and hire some experienced coaches who are actually good at their jobs.

But CPM has earned a lot of rope and you are crazy if you don't think he wants to win and has a commitment to excellence. He just puts too much faith in some of his hires to a fault much like Miles.
