QB makes too many mistakes and can't run the ball.
We have no alternative.
OL is suspect.

Hope I'm wrong but I am a realist.

If we don't make the playoffs this year with this roster we have, then when will we?

We’ll see if Nuss has learned not to throw off his back foot when he gets pressured, leading to terrible throws and picks. He also needs to run for first downs, and he needs a running game to ease his burden.

Its going to be a lot tougher than people think, even with this great roster. We play 5 of the top 10 qbs on most peoples rankings. Mateer from OU on the road, Klubnik from Clemson on the road, Sellers from USC, Lagway from Florida, and Pavia from Vandy on the road. Not to mention @ Bama and @Ole Miss. Buckle up boys, its going to be a dog fight.

I am just concerned about Clemson

Is Clemson set to move up from last year? I see the ranking but dont believe them to be a contender. Why are people so high on them? serious guestion.

Jesus i had to explain this lol

Your sentence in the OP is awkward. It took a second look for me to realize what you were saying. Barring a catastrophe, like Nuss getting hurt or several significant injuries, I agree.

I’d put our chances at about 40% which I think are very high.

Beat Clemson and it jumps to about 50/50.

Lose to Clemson and we are probably 20%.

Even after last year… we were a win at Florida away from playing in the SEC championship even after the USC loss. Odds are way too low, out of conference loss hurts.. but doesn’t kill your odds that bad

you got your up vote. No excuses this season. My biggest concern is Sloan and our inability to run last year with that O-line. Is it possible all of our RBs had terrible vision?

We have A LOT to overcome this year, and unfortunately we are facing a quality opponent, on the road in week 1. Very frustrating that our chances for the playoffs will be decided on August 30.

Playoffs? How about focusing on upsetting Clemson in opening game. Nothing else matters at this point.
I wouldn't neccesairly call it an upset. I don't care if the game was in Dabo's backyard. We have talent, and we should 1000% compete in this game.

Here’s what I know. Lots of money has been put into this roster. Nobody will know the exact dollar amount and I’m not here to argue that. We all know a good amount of money has been put into this team. With that being said we need to make the playoffs. You don’t invest this much money to go to the potato bowl. It’s either playoff or Kelly needs to be fired.

People are high on them because they made the playoffs and they return the most production in the country. They return 8 starters on both sides of the ball. With the portal though, this has kind of become less important in my opnion. We saw Oklahoma State return 20 starters last year and they went 3-9 from a team that went 10-4 the previous year.

definitely would not be an upset. Clem is a 1.5 PT fav

*the fact that they're only favored by 1.5 at home is encouraging

In betting terms, LSU being only 1.5 of the normal 3 for a home team seems like it is being called even money or shading to LSU. Is that right?

LSU is plus money in week 1 and -158 to get to 9 wins (giving that game as a probable loss). So you're looking at a 61% (ish) shot to win 9 games and somewhere around 50/50 to get to 11.

If they beat Clemson, which I have little confidence they will, their odds will drastically change but for now I would bet no. They do not make the CFP.

BK needs to do something week 1 for me to buy into this pre-season hype we've been fed the last two years.
