One additional benefit of the national championship season is that when Saban comes to be inducted into the Louisiana Sports Hall of Fame, it will be with his tail between his legs somewhat. IMO, while deserving, they should have waited until a couple of years after he has retired to bestow that honor.

LSU never put up one for Dietzel.
Saban is mainly an Alabama Coach. He was never invested in LSU. He was looking to leave LSU from the 1st year he was here. Every post season he was looking for NFL head coaching jobs. By the time Saban finally left LSU for the Dolphins
his annual dalliances with NFL teams were getting old and starting to be used against LSU in recruiting. Saban doesn't deserve a statue.
The person who deserves a statue is Joe Burrow. They could put it up today.

Saban didn't just bail on us he was having a hard time with the idea and was offered a shitload of money. Skip tried to tell him he wouldn't like the NFL they had long discussions they loved Baton Rouge. He begged to come D_ j but it was too late. We had Miles. I truly think when he went to bama he wasn't thinking about LSU bama rivalry. Kinda of like thinking with your D _ _ k. I hated him for going to Bama not hate hate but Bama coach hate. Gotta love 03
