hopefully... he wasnt smart enough to keep running the ball with k. williams this past weekend...
Our running back coach does not know what he is doing either... Keiland should have been playing more...

Doesn't matter we have major issues at the top position

Considering Crowton's offense has gotten us to a #8 BCS ranking with a freshman QB at the helm, Les has to be thinking about replacing such incompetence.
Thank goodness Crowton doesn't have an experienced QB such as Matt Flynn; we all know how that turned out.

I beg Miles to meddle in the offense!!! All that 4 wide crap...thats Crowton people. Option...Crowton. Passing designed with 7 step drops and NO check downs...CROWTON.

Absolutely, 100% on the money. If Les were actually meddling, don't you think he would have continued running Keiland Saturday night, rather than following a big run by emptying the backfield and throwing the ball.
Well then, WHEN THE HELL IS LES MILES GOING TO STEP UP AND TAKE OVER THEN? IT'S HIS frickING TEAM AFTER ALL!
...i am in agreement with that!!!!

Miles is not going to Michigan -- Harbaugh will ( another MI alum) - Did you see his team dismantle Oregon and USC 2 weeks in a row. Crowton is the problem and will be gone IMO.
you could be right on this one...Harbough is on the way up...Miles is on his way down...Harbough has done a hell of a job at Stanford and he's really turned that program around with alot of dicipline and energy...I'd like to have the energy and dicipline in Miles, but I have my doubts it will happen again..

Good thinking, exposing our most valuable RB to injury in a meaningless game against La Tech sounds like a recipe to disaster--good thinking!

Long time reader of this board, and felt a need to shed some light on this situation. (I am a supporter of Coach Miles, but like many question what's going on with the offense).
1. Les Miles is not going to Michigan. Rich Rod will be back coaching the Wolverines in 2010, and Coach Miles would not be going if there was an opening. Folks need to realize in today's economy there isn't the money for the huge buyout associated with Coach's contract. No one in there right mind would replace a coach with his winning percentage at this time, regardless of close games, winning ugly .....
2. From what I hear, there will be changes on the offensive side of the ball at the end of the 2009 season. Contrary to popular belief, GC runs the offense. Coach Miles DOES NOT meddle in the plays. Perhaps he should, but from what I know it's, Crowton calling and putting the game plan together almost exclusively with Miles approval. Why he does not override some of the calls, I don't know the answer. Look at Coach's comments regarding Crowton after the UF game where it seems he kinda threw GC under the bus. Surprisingly !
3. Coach Miles is more a Big 12 want to pass 60/40 closer than run, run like most on this board think. Yes he Coached in Big 10 but he is more pass happy than most think.
4. The talk about Borges coming to LSU are incorrect and premature. No decision has been made at this time according to what I hear. I hear that it's more than a 70% chance of offensive staff changes including GC. I also heard there was a heated argument after the UF game between Coach and GC, and that a parting of the ways after the season is almost a forgone conclusion. Don't shoot the messenger, take it for what it's worth. Just relaying info I have heard.
5. And for the linkologist out there, there is no link! This is from folks associated with CM.

Good young QB. Good WRs. Best OL since he's been here.
Which just leaves the coaches to blame.

may as well go one more year to see what crowton can do with JJ who has been indoctrinated soley in the the crowton program.
Just exactly what IS the Crowton system? Who the frick knows. Does anybody know what he's really trying to do? He's accomplished this year on offense what Mallveto did on defense last year. The "multiple" schemes/sets have taken the "athleticism" out of our athletes. They're now thinking way too much instead of just playing football. He's turned it into complicated "Rocket Science" more suitable to Drew Brees. Welcome to Saturday Night Live with Crowtons Split Personality PowerIFlexBoneProSetWildTigerSpreadOption.

Before I can answer your question, I would want to know what Miles thinks is the issue with our offense.
We don't know, because either he doesn't know, or refuses to verbalize it to us because he thinks we are high school girls who can't handle the truth.
1. You might be closer to the truth than you know - rantards are not that far off from teenage girls in both mental and emotional development.
2. We don't pay his salary - I don't care what convoluted logic you use to show that we are a state school etc... it doesn't hold water. Miles has to prove himself only to his immediate boss(es), who in turn look for only growth of the program. Only when boosters/wealthy alumni get angry and withhold cash does change happen and they are not displeased visibly.
3. The man has earned the right to a couple of bad losing seasons and we can't claim 8-5 and 8-2.. to be that. Again no one cares about the rant - you win an NC you get more than a mulligan.

Appreciate the post TigerSage55, sounds like you may know a little bit about whats going on...and I could see what your saying playing out...I may not be a Miles supporter but I'm not for him being fired either...and I've heard from a few reliable sources about the exchange of words Miles and Crowton had after the Fl game...He didnt say he saw it, just that he heard about it from someone else...

Louisiana STATE University???
yes, we do...

Crowton is just a bad OC... Something needs to change with the talent we have we should not be in the bottom 10% of the country in offense. We have not even produced against the bottom of our schedule. Miles has earned our trust by winning and winning a lot. When your offense is among the worst in the country...the OC has to go) I mean if there was a modicum of improvement I would say wait it out but there has been none on offense at any position, the discipline isn't there. Heck right now I would be happy with an offense ranked in around 80th in the country. (it would show an improvement of 20%)

You're right. The failure to get involved is very much on Miles. He showed he wasn't above this in 2006, when we refused to throw the ball with the overall top pick in the draft at QB, and two first rounders in Bowe and Davis, as well as Doucet. How he doesn't step in and force this offense to develop an identity is mindboggling to me.

I'm not sure what is more idiotic, thinking its dumb to RUN A RUNNING BACK in a very close football game or thinking the Tech game was meaningless. We're out of the conference race, the best we can accomplish is a ten win regular season, which can't happen if we don't beat Tech. Throw in the potential embarrassment of losing to an in-state school, and you could argue it was the game we could least afford to lose of the last three. To quote an earlier submission of this thread, the stupidity on the Rant is epic.
