For one, I think after a grueling SEC schedule, we get a lot of guys back healthy.
Hit the nail on the head. Everybody has finally had a chance to rest and get healthy after not only a grueling SEC schedule, but also having to deal with travel to and from games and then school (however easy the classes may be, they still add stress that can't help).

But also keep in mind that the teams he will be going against also have close to 20 4-5* players. Les miles also beat OU with less tale Ted teams.
Look what Urban Meyer has done with Florida and he came from a MWC team, also.

QFT. We are in for some pretty lean years in LSU Football unfortunately :banghead:

Until there is a network listed, obviously it will be televised, this is not the time. That's just the default.
Ah, didn't catch that. Here's to hoping it's a night game, then!

Looks horrible. Need some purple in there or something and gold in the uniform and not just on the helmet or something...

re: we have a VERY good shot at making the bcs
Posted by hoboattacker on 11/10/09 at 6:50 pm to Spankum
Why? Florida didn't drop when they played their weak teams. Style points are a must if we want to stay in the top 10 and have a shot at the BCS. :geauxtigers:

Guys, come on. I love LSU but our fans are pretty terrible about this kind of thing. Tons of LSU fans do this sort of thing, so you have to expect it back.
Maybe some of our fans have that rep, but it's definitely not all or even the majority. When my group of friends were walking back to our car we met up with an older Florida woman and started to talk about the game atmosphere and the game itself. My roommate ended up asking her if she had enjoyed herself in Baton Rouge and if she had fun while she was here and her answer was that we (the tiger fanbase) had opened her eyes to being hospitable to the opposing team. She said that she had never been the type of person to be nice to the opponent when they came into town, but how we treated all of the Florida fans opened her eyes to treating other teams with respect and kindness.
I'm sorry for the rant, but I'm tired of hearing about how "all" of our fans are terrible and we are all douche bags when we aren't.

I say they should just pull a ball of yarn in front of him until he walks into the cage. Then bring him to the stadium and do whatever it takes to make him roar.
From what I've heard (no links, just word of mouth) is that the mascots can't get near him when they are suited up. It's too stressful on Mike (what the trainers say), even though it makes him growl some. :banghead:

I agree with this. I think he's protecting JJ and doesn't want to hurt his confidence by asking him to do too much. BUT, that game was still in the balance and Vandy was driving with a chance to tie the score in the 4th quarter. The interception was from a pass that hit the Vandy guy in the hands.
While I understand this mindset, if he is never expected to do much in games that are "easy" what will he do against a difficult team? What about when we play Georgia, Bama or Florida and then he gets laid out or intercepted? I feel that it will absolutely destroy his confidence if he has never had to deal with something like that before.

Just remember - when Curly was coach we would have been thrilled to have finished 40th.
I'm honestly tired of hearing this. Yes, we would have been thrilled to finish 40th or let alone, the top 25. The fact is that LSU has moved on from that and LSU fans, administration, and the AD should demand much more than finishing 40th in the BCS. Especially when we are paying the head coach close to $4,000,000 per year.
Also, to whoever thinks we would beat TCU head to head...remember that TCU is one of two teams that held OU to 35 points this season (their season low). And no, OU wasn't looking ahead a week to Baylor.

If the student section knew how to yell to actually make it loud in the stadium it wouldn't even be an issue.
Sorry, but it was loud as frick in that stadium. Yelling isn't going to win us football games when we are getting our arse kicked. Maybe in a close game it will, but not yesterday.
And y'all played a damn good half-time show. The best in recent times, for sure.
