You continue to say this when it's not true. I guess no one actually scouts these players we sign. They just magically show up for official visits.

So is anyone going to address Paul's comments on hitting or not hitting?
Russian's beautiful use of rhetoric has allowed him to ole his way out of it, correctly I might add.
Everyone else doesn't care. Its a bunch of kum-ba-yah in this thread for Javy. Maineiri literally absolved him of blame, but evidently, using the same logic Maineiri used now that we're doing well doesn't work.

Hopefully this season gets Javi a job somewhere.
This....but he'll never leave Mainieri. He enjoys the BBQ too much.

Yeah, lemme tell ya...Jacoby Jones, Alex Bregman, Raph Rhymes, Mason Katz...those were all guys Javy plucked out of relative obscurity. Huge props to him.
No way LSU would've known that two kids that were Top 2 round Draft Picks and others who tried to walk on or were STUDS in our own backyard would've ever been noticed by others in his position. He's VITAL to the success of our program!
How could we have known that Jones & Bregman could cut it at the collegiate level without Javy's scouting prowess!

Do you even go to games? Who meets with the players in the outfield prior to every game giving them their last minute instructions and pep talk just before they come in to the dugout? It's not Dunn or Mainieri, it's Sanchez.
What is the body language of the players when Sanchez is there talking to them? They all, to a person, stand in one place listening, staring at Sanchez. They aren't milling around appearing disinterested.
You're really embarrassing yourself with you vitriolic statements towards Sanchez. You're in a funk.....

Oh for crying out loud. Are those the only people who we have signed that are contributing? You still haven't addressed the fact that you were wrong that he was never recruiting coordinator.

Okay then. So because he gives them a pep-talk before a game, he's a great coach and vital to our program.
Gotcha.
Look, I'm not really interested in being convinced he's worth a sh!t, because hiring family is a sh!tty idea. It will always be a sh!tty idea unless you're in a family business. The reason is that we've already seen this guy will be shielded from accountability via family that hired him.
I'm not really at a point where I care what you view or consider my opinion to be. But we can go round and round all you like, even though I've conceded your point about him lacking a title, and the fact that you refuse-quite smartly-to defend Maineiri's blaming of talent and not coaching on hitting.
The guy has a job because of who he knows. So do a lot of people. I don't like it on principle, and I've given you a few examples, and also conceded a few points.

Actually I did. Several times. You've been crying out loud/knighting for Maineiri's Godson too much to notice, evidently.

I honestly can see both sides of this. Just trying to be fair here. I can see blame going to javi for jacoby and ross not hitting so far. But what about guys like Laird and Ibarra?

Has this ever been proven true or is it just another Rant rumor? And FWIW, I do not think he is a great hitting coach but he is a pretty good recruiter. Obviously you are just too jaded to notice.

They obviously haven't been around long enough to be totally corrupted by him.

Plenty of chances for someone to address maineri's comments of the players either being able to hit, or they can't.
I guess no amount of coaching can help a player who "can't hit"

My fault is that I don't pay attention to how closely the player's pay attention to Sanchez in the outfield pre-game. I also didn't pay attention to the fact that we never named a Recruiting Coordinator to replace Grewe.
I'll admit I honestly did think Maineiri named Sanchez recruiting coordinator. I do know he gave him a big fat raise after 2009.
But here's what else I know.
He used to coach 3rd base.
He doesn't coach 3rd base anymore.
He is our hitting coach.
Our Head Coach told us that coaches aren't responsible for hitting, because kids can either hit or they can't.

Maineiri's Godson

I'm going to make it a point to ask Mainieri if it's true the next time I talk to him.

I also didn't pay attention to the fact

So what? I guess Mainieri saying he did that so Sanchez could talk to the hitters before they go up to bat, which he couldn't do if he was standing in the 3rd base coaches box, was lost on you, right?
I've concluded, you're a

Guess there's nothing to it then. Hey, by the way...why hasn't this guy gotten a head coaching gig by now or been lured away?
We should probably be trying to rally the TAF for a raise or something to keep him around!
ETA: RE: the crybaby image, c'mon bro...You can't find a gif for me? I am cool enough for underline and bold but not an animated gif?

Speaking of that, since you're obviously such an expert on college baseball, why aren't YOU a head coach somewhere???
