I can see either side. it’s a tough spot to make his first start with a fired coaches against bama on the road.
But
Bama has very little tape to study on nuss and that will be an advantage to some degree

I just worry about him throwing 5 ints or some shite and getting sacked by that monster pass rusher they have like 5 times. Today was the worst pass blocking I’ve seen by lsu in a single game since I’ve started watching them and I’m 34
That pass rush will get him sacked at least 4 times without a doubt.

With max you get someone that is better for a gameplan of shortening the game and running the ball 50 times ,not taking many risks , and minimizing turnover opportunities.

With nuss it’s a gunslinging ,try to keep up with them in a shootout , type gameplan.

Which is more likely to make a game out of it?

I know everyone else has this hankering to start Nuss.

But everyone who plays for this coaching staff acts traumatized a year later.

Anyone with eyes can see nuss is heads and shoulders above max. He has IT. Max is just in the wrong situation. Hey let’s roll our left handed qb to the right all fricking game. I mean what could go wrong.

I think G is more poised and comfortable with his abilities.

However, he's a true freshman so it's a slippery slope combined with the OL issues.

You want him to get reps but you also don't want to put him out there to play Alabama.

After Bama, I could see. We play ULM so I could see that.

Do you see this defense holding Bama under 50 points?

I don't think that's the play call. I think it's Max just scrambling to his right when he's trying to decide what to do.

We had this same conversation, with the same terminology, last season with Finley vs Johnson. (Last season it was Johnson who had the “IT” factor.)

Nuss is a different type of QB than Johnson, but nothing I’ve seen from him indicates that he’s better.

Really. Seeing the entire field. Throwing deep into the defense with accuracy. Legs of Manzeiel. Just wait he wins the job with a non retarded middle school coaching staff next year.

The o-line will get him killed. Do not do that to a true freshman with the potential he has.

I would. He’s got huge potential. Will be some freshmen mistakes, especially for a guy that makes fast decisions and ain’t scared. Let him get some game experience now and incoming coach will have something more to evaluate. You never know what spark he might create.

Oline may not be that much better next year. Can’t play scared.

His first start on the road vs Bama would be probably the worst thing to happen. Gotta start Max but be ready to make a change
