Yea those kind of people are really retarted. It drives me crazy when someone tells me that. Most of the time they're just mad cause the team they like sucks a horses 5th leg.

I don't really have a problem with it, as I am out of state and expect some of that...as long as we keep whippin that arse, I'm good...
I do always get a little puzzled when people in LA say that, though...I pull for all LA schools as long as they are not playing LSU...
I have lived in Monroe and Lafayette, though and have to say that the butthurt is strong and that the constant sniveling and inferiority complex-based talk by La Tech and ULALA fan bases gets old in a hurry....

This. Also, I usually ask them to explain their disproportionate emotional response, which often leads to a collection of silly reasons and a feeling of meek awkwardness on their part.

I definitely wouldn't do business with anyone who told me straight up to my face that he hated LSU, knowing that LSU was important to me.
I'm not exaggerating. LSU is part of who I am.
I worked for a guy once who openly said in staff meetings that he hated LSU. He was an old miser who liked to make big power trippy shows in meetings. Total a-hole. He would do it because he went to UT-Austin and liked putting down rooms full of LSU grads, knowing they couldn't say anything. Kind of guy who would fire people for sport. I couldn't leave that place fast enough.
Now that I'm older and more established, I will never take that kind of shite again.

I honestly think some of that, maybe alot, is envy. Apart from Bama, I can't think of another team that has as loyal a fanbase; that lives n' dies with its teams like the LSU fanbase. For that reason alone, I try to ignore those idiots, unless one gets up in my face and makes it personal. Then, he gets kicked in the crotch. Simple enough!!!

I was in the Army for 20 years and met people from all over the country and world. It goes with the territory that they will be fans of various different teams depending on the region they are from. So it doesn't bother me when they say they hate LSU. Odds are I'm not too fond of their favorite teams. It makes for fun work banter when you have fans of different teams working together. I worked in a shop in Georgia that had another LSU fan, a UGA fan and a Florida fan. That was a fun place to be during football season. Especially the year we beat UGA twice.

A Tennessee fan told me, back in the day, that he couldn't stand Dale Brown and that Brown should not be allowed to coach in the SEC. I told him, I understand your feeling. Before Brown came to LSU I despised Tennessee. However, since Brown came to LSU and we kick your arse annually, I don't care who coaches Tennessee.
