Nope. More money to hire good talent at OC. Oregeron just have to be a great leader and recruit well. Which he's shown won't be a problem. You get the right coaches around you, you go places.

I agree with this 100 percent. It amazes me how many on here have ignored this fact.

This is a fact that should only matter to the person being paid the lowest salary. Why do you care? It's like saying, "so and so wore white to a dinner party after Labor Day". WTF is it to you?

I like the hire coach O hire and really get totally worn with the "I deserve this" attitude. Coach O is very humble and is truly appreciative .

I'm am not of the opinion that if we paid Coach O more he would be more successful.

Well we are going to go with a coordinator driven model and put the big money there.

We have no choice but to hope that works, at this point whether it bothers us or not it is what it is and let's hope for the best.

8 million a year didn't beat OSU today nor get Michigan into the play offs.

What a ridiculous statement? I agree with the others but Harbaugh is worth every penny. Did you see Michigan 3 years ago? He shouldn't be paid more than saban like he is, but Michigan is back as a top tier program under him.

it is a pretty simple notion:

You are paid based on what you have ACCOMPLISHED. Trust me, the incentives of winning (conference, bowl, championship) will be in the contract. That is the great thing about having a relatively low cost per year right now.

The SEC has lots of coaches that are paid ridiculous amts of money relative to what they have accomplished.

LSU will look like a genius if this break either way. If he sucks we didn't pay that much, if he wins he will get paid.

WHEN he wins a championship, his pay will instantly match the highest paid coach + $1, like most SEC contracts are written.

So where is the LSU grad who has had success as a college HC and NFL HC who wanted to take the LSU job now? Harbaugh was worth the money to Michigan after the coaching carousel the program had been on. I like Jimbo and all, but I can't really blame LSU for not wanting to be put in a long term costly contract scenario due to leveraged situation by an agent and coach. Herman may or may not have worked out, but it's not like LSU has been an easy program to have success at longer term, especially during the Joe Dean years. Maybe O will be able to manage situations unique to LA much better than an outsider could and have success.

no. what an idiotic post. what were you thinking of?

we could fix that by just tripling his salary immediately and then having the highest paid coach in the SEC. would that make you feel better?

It's not about Coach O's salary. It's about settling for a Coach with a market value so low.

I can't believe I had to explain that to you.
