If so, does he get his job starting job back?

I heard he may be done permanently. Personal reasons.

He ain't coming back. As in, gone. Miles wished him well during the post-game presser Saturday night. Don't know if he quit the team, school, both or neither. Sounds like a tough situation that I hope he is able to get sorted out.

If it's personal reasons, I hope he works it out.

That was what had me guessing was the presser. I know there was speculation on td last week but not confirmed by miles. But it seemed liked miles was sort of confirming. What was reason he quit, benched for 2nd string?

Wish the young man good luck and hope you solve your problems, whatever they are.

Sounded to me like he was expected on the sidelines Saturday and didn't show up.

Something about he refused to move to another position?? (although that seems far-fetched)

One thing that is glanced over in these young men (and public in general) is emotional health. These guys are under a unique emotional stress depending on their backgrounds and makeup.
As others have already stated, I wish him well.

I tend to agree that it is far-fetched, Mick. He was the coaches choice at both tackle spots. Even if we speculate that they wanted him to play, what? RG? Because Williford was iffy - wouldn't it have made much more sense to play Josh D at RG and leave Hurst at tackle?

I haven't heard any specifics other than the problem may be in Tennessee - so, maybe a family member with serious health problems has caused him to miss some school and/or practice, plus he's nursing a nagging injury? - I'm just speculating based on tidbits I've heard just in the last 9 days.

I heard it was also along the lines of not having the drive or motivation to play football anymore. Cant imagine what would stress him that bad but I hope for the best for him.

been hinted at in a few other threads....

Really I think Hurst has handled this all pretty poorly.

so did he quit because of a position change, or being benched?

This was discussed, in depth, all last wk & more than a few have given the "reason" behind his absence, or as best as they can with it being such a personal matter. He did not quit, it is not because of a position change, it has nothing to do with football whatsoever. Read, people, read, it will do wonders for your education.

I wish Hurst the best, and will not speculate as to what the personal issues are. I would love to have him back on the sidelines. However, his starting job is gone. Alexander is the best freshman tackle I have ever seen. Tremendous upside to having him in the starting spot.
